Walmart is the next exit down the highway, about a 5 minute drive, in the town of Kapolei. There is a Target that has a very good grocery section as well
...you do need to purchase a membership, not sure if you have Costco in the UK ( I am guessing that is where you are from eeyorefanuk) but it is worth it if you are staying for more than a day or two

We just came back and stayed in a hotel room instead of the one bedroom DVC villa like we usually do. The hotel rooms do not have microwaves, but you can ask to have one put in, which is what we did. I had been told before to just ask for it when you arrive, but I also made it a request on my reservation. I asked for it when we checked in, but was pleasantly surprised to see they already had it in the room!!
For me, I don't like spending a ton of money on food when I'm on vacation. I would rather use it on excursions and activities, so I usually look for a less expensive way to eat with one or two more expensive meals thrown in during the trip. Be sure to check out the ABC store/Island Country store across the street (same complex as Monkey Pod). Their deli is outstanding! They have a rotation of hot dishes each day, plus tons of grab and go food. And you can't beat the price! Good for for about $12 per person.
The hotel rooms are about 20 sq ft bigger than the studios. Studios will have a queen size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa. Hotel rooms will have either 2 queen beds or a king size bed with queen size sleeper sofa. The studios have a microwave and wet bar with paper products (paper towel, utensils, paper plates, etc) in the cupboard. Its my understanding that if you are staying on DVC points in a hotel room, that there are very few available for points reservations and the ones that are have views of the parking ramp. If you're making a standard reservation, then no concern.
As a side note about Costco, if you're not familiar, it's a club that sells products wholesale in large bulk quantities. It's perfect for families, people with long stays, people with full kitchens who plan on cooking a lot, etc. They also have discounted gas for members. We're only two adults and do not have a Costco membership, and we didn't feel it was worth the cost to purchase one just for the trip since we don't need the large quantities. We'll go to Walmart, Target, or their grocery store Safeway.
