Walmart re-doing their scrapping section

The only good thing about Martha invading the stores is the 5 minutes of great clearance!

Ok I'm not a Martha fan - maybe it's the domesticity of everything that I don't jive with. Ok that's not the scrapbooking part. I really never look at her stuff at Michael's due to lack of sales and coupons. I almost never buy something 'new' that I haven't used before without using a coupon so that really puts me out.

We are heading to the walmart later here in lancaster so you can bet I'll check out clearance though!

Our Walmart too, here in Brantford, Ontario. Darn, I couldn't even go down that section and look at anything. I just hope they have a even bigger Cricut section. Its is getting closer to that time when I can finaly afford a Cricut.

The lady in the sewing/scrapbooking section at our Walmart said that they are fazing out all of their Cricut stuff! I'm disappointed because ALL of the carts were sold for $45 there and now they won't be carrying any Cricut products anymore. They have also clearanced a lot of the scapbooking stuff but she didn't say that they were getting in the Martha line. I'm sure they are though. I did see some pretty good sale items while I was there, the 12x12 pink Princess scrapbook was $8.99 and lots of there stickers were a dollar or more cheaper, also their embellishments were on sale.

The stores here seem to be reducing their scrapbooking sections. Not a lot was on clearance...several Disney Cricuit carts and the Cricuit cutter. No embellishments or anything but several of the albums were half price. Not sure what is going on. Just looked to me like they were making the section smaller.

I have 3 WM I can go to and I have. Only one had tons of disney stuff on clearance from $1 to $3. I have been there 3 times and have racked up about 35 packs of $1 disney embellishments. It was to good to pass up. I will use most in swaps. I got 2 8x8 disney albums for autograph books for a upcoming project. And I saw 50 states on sale for $30 so I grabbed that it. Between WM and ACM I gotten some great deals, but did spent some money.

The MS stuff I will not touch or even look at. I can not stand her snotty ways.

The Walmart near me had some of the MS stuff out on the shelf. They also had more Cricut stuff on the shelf. I saw several Mickey Font carts on clearance for $35, but I didn't pick up any because I already own it. Not happy about MS invading Walmart either.

Has anyone else confirmed that WalMart is indeed fazing out Cricut? If so, I will be bummed, as that is the closest place (besides the internet) for me to pick up anything...

I stoppped at another Wal-Mart and they too were starting to put out the MS stuff... I asked about Cricuit because I didn't see any anywhere and the employee said they had gotten more Cricuit items in and putting it all in one place. For some reason this store had the cutter in one place in the aisle, carts in another, and replacement blades and things in another. So it looks like maybe it depends on the store. Or the employee for that matter.

I kind of thought the MS stuff at Wal-Mart looked a lot better than the Michael's stuff. The prices are definately better and they had things like baby girl or baby boy themed album kits that were interesting in that they were more classic looking and not so cutesy. They only had about a third of it out so far but it was interesting to see.

Thanks for the tip! I got the Mickey and Friends cartridge for $35! They also had the font and the state one. I'm a teacher, so I might go back and get the state today.

I was hoping that once MS is hooked up with Walmart Michael's might stop carrying her stuff. Once MS invaded Michael's their selection of other stuff really went downhill. I find her stuff to be boring, expensive and it really irritates me that coupons can't be used. I would much rather see a broader selection from various companies than a whole aisle of matchy matchy MS stuff. I hope ACM doesn't go the MS route too.

I think it just depends on the store. 2 of my Walmarts rarely carry Cricut stuff but the small Walmart (non super store) has expanded the Cricut section.

The Martha stuff has arrived at my Walmart (Westfield, MA). I didn't have time to really look at the prices, but it does take up a significant portion of the scrapbook area. There were also diagrams hanging on the shelves which I assume were product placement that they hadn't gotten to yet. I can't tell what's happening with Cricut stuff, other than that it is still spread out and not grouped together.

I will probably pop in there again next week just to see if they've made any progress and more to see the status of Cricut stuff than MS.

Hi again. I was back in our Walmart on Friday, they just got done doing over the scrap section. WOW. too much MS stuff, I think that the prices of that is higher just because of MS logo. But now my older brother's girlfriend works at Walmart and if I give her the money I can finally get my Cricut with a discount. SHhh.
