Does anyone know if there is a grocery store or walmart near the entrance to downtown disney and the crossroads area, we need to stop before we get to the resort and this was the exit we were going to use.

Here several years ago my wife got the tour from hell looking for a Walmart. We were camping at Ft Wilderness and my daughter wanted Grits for breakfast.Oh yes we are Southerners/LOL/. So my wife and I set out to go to Walmart. Understand My daughter was in her late teens, so leaving her at the campsite was not a problem. We drove about a hundred miles in and around Orlando until we found a Walmart and then returned to our camp site. Now I can read a map well. I can read a map from a helicopter. I was in the army for 2o years. Do yourself a favor and take a GPS. There are Grocery stores everywhere and they are close to the parks ,just off WDW. Good Luck and I hope you have agreat time. There's a Goodings in the Crossroads shopping center. Probably the most expensive grocery store that I've been in, though.

The closest Publix store is about 2 miles from the Crossroads area on Vineland Avenue.

The closest Winn Dixie is about a mile and a half away, further up the road from Crossroads.

There's a Super Walmart about 3 miles down SR 535 (toward Kissimmee) and another Super Walmart about 6 miles from the Crossroads area, up Palm Parkway/Turkey Lake Road.

If you head up Apopka-Vineland and Crossroads is on your right, keep going for about 1.5 miles (as the PP said.) You'll come to Winn-Dixie on your right. There's a Walgreen's directly across the street from it.

We found both stores very convenient and reasonably-priced on our last trip in May.

There is a Super Walmart 4 mile from DTD. Take Hotel Plaza Blvd - the road in front of DTD- to 535. Turn left on to 535 stay in the outside lane because at the first traffic light you come to is Palm Pkwy turn right on to Palm Pkwy. Just keep driving straight for 4 miles. Palm Pkwy becomes Turkey Lake Rd. and Walmart will be on the left. It is a brand new one has only been open less than a year.

Take a look at the map it is #2 on the map

There's a Wal Mart on 535 as you go south after turning right on Hotel Plaza blvd. There's another one on Turkey lake rd that I think is nicer and newer but a little further away as it's probably closer to Universal. To get to this one turn left from Hotel Plaza blvd, turn right on Palm Pkwy keep going straight,Palm pkwy will become Turkey lake rd, after you pass Dr.Phillips hospital it'll be on your left.Gooding's, you don't want to go in there,I remember going in there like 20 years ago and honestly back then it was expensive but it was nice, like nicer than most other supermarkets, today it's just expensive and old looking, like it hasn't been touched or renovated in forever and even the shelves looked half empty. They used to have several locations like on International Drive but the one by DTD is the only one left and I wonder how much longer it''ll last.Winn Dixie is pretty decent and probably the closest good option from DTD.However my favorite supermarket is Publix, from DTD the two closest ones would be the one on Vineland by the Premium Outlets Vineland location, turn right from Hotel Plaza,go under I-4 get on the left lane and turn left at Vineland ave, you'll see the outlets and the road will curve with the Publix on the left. The other one is by Dr.Phillips,go the same way as if you were going to the Wal Mart on Turkey Lake rd,after you pass the Wal Mart, turn left on Sand lake rd.

The Goodings at Crossroad is not only expensive it is also the oddest grocery store I have ever shopped at :confused3

I can beat one grocer store that is even weirder then Goodings, although not in Florida, but we went to Chicago this summer, and there is a grocery store called Trader Joes all there own brands, never heard of any of it!! Very weird! Sorry totally off topic.
We do shop at the Winn Dixie and the Walmart. Just a note though, I don't believe the Walgreen's is right accross the street, you turn into Walgreen's on the left at the light, and you have to go down further past the lights for Winn Dixie.

Trader Joes is AMAZING!!! We go to the one in Bellingham, Washington State, at least once a month (lots of Canadian license plates in that parking lot!). We also shop there all the time on our annual trips to Southern California. TJs is an organic grocery store (a much smaller and humbler version of Whole Foods). The majority of their TJ brands are very good. When TJs opened their first store in NY (over a year ago???), there were line-ups down the block to get in there. That's how much TJ fans love that store.

Back to the topic of grocery stores, there's a Super Target just outside WDW. We went on our last trip (if only I can remember the address...). I love that you can buy groceries and shop for inexpensive Disney souvenirs too.

In my experience it not too far to go to Super Walmart
