Does anyone know (estimate) how much a taxi would cost to the closest Walmart from one of the hotels close to Disneyland? Also is it a 'Super Walmart'? Not really sure what that means (I'm from New Zealand).

According to walmart.com, there's one at 440 N. Euclid. It doesn't appear to be a Super-Walmart, a designation that mostly means that it contains a grocery section. According to google maps, this location is 3.3 miles from Disneyland. Finally, looking at Anaheim Yellow Cab, it appears that the fare will be about $12 one way.

HTH,
Bob

Thanks so much for going to so much trouble for me! That helps a lot.

There are supermarkets within walking distance from many of the hotels right around disneyland. Anaheim is very different from Orlando, where everything is far apart. I'm not sure you'll need to go to Walmart for stuff you need...If you google the names for our local supermarkets here: "Ralphs" or "Albertsons," you can go on their store website and locate stores near DL in Anaheim. I'm sure a few will pop up which is closer than the Walmart . . .

Thanks for the reply. It really isn't groceries we are after. Its makeup and bits and pieces. It is just SO much cheaper than here in New Zealand. Scrapbooking supplies etc. toys. We just love walking around Walmart and picking up our supplies to last us until our next visit

Target is another store similar to Walmart in size and price, and it's a bit closer. It's straight down Harbor.

12100 Harbor Boulevard

If you walked it, it'd be less than two miles from the DL entrance. Walmart is just over two miles from the same point...if you could fly. ;)

We were just in the Wal Mart at Euclid and it is very, very limited, and many items were missing from the shelves. I live out of the US too, and for buying the stuff that you mention I ALWAYS go to Target. It's a must stop for us everytime we visit the US. There's a newer Target at Lincoln, but I can't tell you which one is better.

There is a Kmart that is about a block or two west of DL on Katella.

Oh if you're looking for make up and random things, I think Target is more fun to shop. Their stuff is more "upscale" (relatively speaking) than Walmart, and their kids clothes are actually kinda cute. Some Targets carry juice and some grocery items too so it's a good stop for the necessities.

Kiwitinkerbell, just so you are aware a Super Walmart is a Walmart with a complete grocery section inside.

The Kmart I mentioned is about 1 mile from the corner of Katella and Disneyland Dr.

I'm sure if you mention where you are staying you could get a more detailed answer.

We have visited the Target at Harbor & Chapman on both of our visits. I prefer Target over Walmart.

Yes, that is why i like Taget better than Walmart too. Plus most Walmarts seem to have a bunch of stuff in the aisles that make it hard to walk around. There's a fairly new walmart by us that has much more room but I still like Target better.

Wow thanks so much everyone for the replies. It helps lots with the planning etc. I can't tell you where I'm staying because that's the next drama, trying to decide :rolleyes1 . It will be off site and next the entrance. Just depends on price, availability etc.

By the sounds of things, Target might be the way to go. Thanks again everyone.

Not knowing where you are staying if you stay to the South of the Park, hilton Marriot area or more down Harbor walk to the mentioned Target. If you stay on the West you may be able to walk to the Kmart. If you are North
(don't stay up there if you want to walk to the parks), there is a Walmart up there. From the west side of the park you will probably want to take a cab. Also I don't know the locations but the last few trips to urban areas I found it easier to go to a Walgreens or CVS, they are all over. Not as big as Kmart/Walmart/Target, but they have basic things and tourist things.
