I would like your opinion on Walmarts near Disney please. I plan to use my Savings Catcher money to purchase some food items for the room and items not allowed in carry-ons.

Looking at maps, there are several options on the drive from MCO. The closest to the Epcot resorts seems to be the one at 3250 Vineland, but that one is often described as always busy and disorganized.

Which would be your recommendations considering distance, cleanliness and popularity?

A slightly longer drive might be worth a more pleasant shopping experience, especially for DH.

I have gone to the one on Vineland. It is a Super Walmart in the heart of offsite guest area. Is it busy? Yes. Is it manageable? Very much so. I have never been to it when it is out of anything. They are full of everything vacationers need. The checkout lines seem long (5-6 deep) sometimes, but it is fast. My experience is their checkout people are very efficient. If you think going in and walking out in 15 minutes, that is not the one for you though. With traffic, crowds, and shopping, plan on the trip being an hour. It is not hectic. I would think of it as controlled chaos, much like Disney.

There are other added benefits to this one as well. There is plenty of Disney souvenirs much cheaper than the parks. Pool toys galore. In our case, it was not bathing suit weather so we had to get them down there. There are also the kids light up toys. Disney charges $15-$20, at WalMart they are $2-$3.

The Super Walmart on Vineland was where we went during our many trips to the BWI. Yes, it was busy but we always found what we wanted. There are others around but not close. We now use the one at the junction of 192 and 27.

Coming from MCO use the South Exit from the airport to 417, get off at exit 6 and then the first left onto Vineland, SR535.

used both the ones mentioned plus some others - but I would go with the one on US 27 - now it is a much longer drive - but it is almost peacefully - it is in Clermont.

how much do you know about the area? you could also try the delivery systems - they are good and then you will not use value vacation time shopping - unless you like to shop - I hate it.

wegoshop (I think) and another one that I can't recall the name of - oh if you have problem staying on your budget - then delivery is the way to go - they bring you only what you ordered.

We went to the Vineland Rd once during the dreaded busy evening hours, it was busy but not so busy you had a hard time moving in the store.
We had to make a trip back to get items to remove spilled nail polish. We went before 8AM and it was not busy at all. If you can go first thing in the mornings I would recommend it. Traffic getting there from Disney was so much better in the morning.

To get to Nearest Walmart on Hwy 27 .... go to HWY 192 going WEST

JUST before Bridge of Hwy 27 .. Turn Right Heading North .. Stay in Right Lane & Walmart is 1/2 mile on Right

2nd Walmart on HWY 27 is 15 miles Beyond & on Right

I will give a voice of dissent here. The Wal-Marts closest to WDW are disasters. We've been to several of them over the years, repeatedly. Yes, they typically have everything we need in stock, but they're as crowded as MK on 4th of July. It's insane. Aisles are packed with people wandering everywhere and not being respectful (leaving their cart in the dead middle of the aisle, etc...), the parking lot is packed, checkout takes a long time. And they're dirty. If you're coming from MCO and really want Wal-Mart, find one closer to there instead of near WDW. Otherwise, I'd recommend going to a local grocery store and/or CVS.

i know that????? the bridge is where Hwy 192 ends.... you must turn on US 27 either left (South) or right (North) Live about 30 miles north of this place.

I live 5 minutes behind Magic Kingdom and I just dont like that Walmart on 535 (Kissimee Vineland),I used to prefer to go to the one on Turkey lake rd closer to Sea World and Universal even though its also a bit chaotic at times. The one at Cagan Crossing just north of 192 on US 27 is much calmer but just too far for me.However last week a new Walmart supercenter opened up on New Independence Pkwy and the 429 expressway,if you're staying in Disney property you would need to either get to Reams rd behind MK or go by the Coronado resort to Western Way and get on the 429 north to New Independence Pkwy, definitely the nicest Walmart in the area.
