I picked up my glasses last Friday. I wear contacts, so these are really just for at night. Well when I put them on, I noticed they had to deep scratches in them. I think the kid that helped me scratched them when he took them in the back to adjust them. He had me try them on, while standing, I looked through them out into the store, seemed okay....that was it. Honestly couldn't wait to get away from him because his hands that were near my face reeked of smoke. Anyway....they fall off my face, there is a defect between the lense and frame at the top, and I need to wear them low down on my nose for them to be clear.

At this point I just want my money back. I don't want to have them send them out to fix them and make yet another trip up there and risk them not being correct. I'd rather just go to lenscrafters, or even order online like I have done in the past (without issue). Has anyone had an issue returning their glasses? The pamplet says 60 day satisfaction guarantee, but I know how difficult some of the stores are with actually abiding by their policies.

I've been taking my DD to WalMart vision for the past 4 years and have never had a problem with them honoring their policy. One time, she broke the frame and under the kids guarantee, they replaced the frame for free. This year, she got her new glasses and there was a strange scratch on the lens that I noticed about a week after we got them. It must have been from the machine when they were being made. Anyway, I brought them back and they made a new lens without any problem.

I don't think you would have a problem returning yours for a refund if that's what the satisfaction guarantee says.

I can share another positive experience at Wal-Mart. My son got one of those deep scratches in his lenses about 2 months after getting them. They replaced the lens no problems.:thumbsup2

They should be under warranty for a year and they will replace them for any reason. I should know....one year my son's were replaced 3 times....he was rough on them in the beginning. He also has bifocals and his opthamologist insisted they were not made properly, so got that pair replaced as well.

I got my last pair there and had the glare reflecting stuff (not sure what that's really called) put on them and my lenses started looking bubbly. Replaced with no problem. Son grabbed his sister's off her face one day and broke the earpiece, again replaced with no problem. We've never asked for a refund, just replacement, so not really sure the policy on that.

While I'm glad they replace them so easily, we did not get son's latest pair there. Couldn't find anything that would fit his small face right and everything they had on display in his category felt so cheap, besides not fitting him. They were of no help working with us to find the right frame, so we went to an indepent optometrist and found the most awesome frame for him. Practically indestructable (well, not really....but they should hold up much better and they were able to adjust the earpieces where Wal-Mart could not do anything like that...basically we were stuck with the length of the earpiece no matter how much too long it was for his ear). We paid more out-of-pocket for these and we got a one year warranty with these too, but had to pay $20 for it. But totally worth it to us for him to have a quality pair of glasses.

This is my biggest thing...that they are just of no help really. I picked inespensive frames because I don't wear the glasses all the time. They SEEMED okay, but in retrospect I should have picked another pair because they are just way too big and the arms are way too long. Even when I picked them up, he didn't even have me SIT in a chair, I just stood there. He said they were a little high and went in the back for a minute then brought them back out. I feel like other places actually recommend the proper frames and spend a little more time. Like you said about the arms....I remember at Sears they would adjust them if they were too long. They weren't cheap either after the price of the lenses, the glare crap and some roll and polish thing she said I had to have.

I'm glad your son has a quality pair now! :goodvibes

My boyfriend had to take his back... they tried twice to fix them and really couldn't. They gave him his cash back without any hassle.

IMHO thier vision shop is "cheap" and the quality shows. (His looked like coke bottle glasses, they couldn't even grind them to fit in the frame right and he's not that blind... plus they smelled like some horrid chemical!)
