I just reserved a car with Thrifty using the WMRT code (wal-mart rand mcnally atlas according to Mouseears),
but the terms&conditions of the rental state that "customer must have $600 availabel credit and estimated amount of rental. Renter must be the Primary Wal-Mart Account Holder).

We don't have a Wal-mart credit card.

Has anyone rented with this code and had to show it?
I'm absolutely paranoid now. if I have to cancel the ressie I will, I hate to get there in October and get slammed because I used a code I shouldnt' have.

By the way I got a mid-size rental for $158.31 for 9 days.

I have used the WMRT code twice in the past year and never had to show or use a Walmart credit card. I just used this code again to book our car for August. I would suggest, however, that you sign up for their Blue Chip program. It's free and it provides you with a special line at the rental counter which cuts down on your wait time.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion!

After posting I ran a few more codes through including AAA, and all of the Terms & Conditions on all the codes included that blurp about WalMart credit. So I assume that just applies to those using that particular branded card to "pay" for the rental, and has nothing to do with the actual code or reservation!

I feel much better now!!

Can't wait til July 12th when we can book Priority Seating!
