Walmart BF buyers beware...

I was watching one of the financial reports and they said that many of the large retailers are ordering less merchandise for BF and for the holiday season in general. They're worried about having too much merchandise that they may get "stuck" with. They mentioned that there will probably be a lot less items on clearance after the holidays than there typically has been in the past.

When orders at the Annual Toy Fair were WAY lower then expected from the big box retailers.

I will get up early to go out on black friday but there's no way in heck that I would put myself in a situation where I would have to fight anyone for anything.
I will not line up anywhere for anything on thanksgiving day.....no matter how bad anyone wants it.

Don't the crazy people know you can just buy all of these deals online now??? :confused3

yeah I'm guessing you were seeing the tip of the iceberg. Last year I happened to go to walmart after lunch and they STILL had tons of the hoodies and such.

My Walmart was open today... we stopped on the way home from the in-laws, at about 5PM, to get some groceries for the weekend. No way am I setting foot in that store before Monday!

There were barriers out but nobody was in line or anything? I asked the cashier and she said they weren't closing tonight. I wonder how that works...

I've decided I'm going to find my best online laptop deal and just relax, rather than stay. It's going to be in the 20's here tonight, and I don't intend to camp out for hours on end.

I also went to Walmart earlier and there were barriers outside...I would assume they would be used if the store reaches capicity. They had the BF stuff out and still shrink wrapped. Some of they toys were not in the wrap but could not be sold until 5am.
1 pallet of each size TV's
Small selection of the discount video games
30-40 gaming chairs
small selection(1-2 per size) of the $3 pj's....FYI look for the child of mine marked down to $5, much better quality.
Small selection of the fleece & $7 coats....our store had no XL in Mens and no XL or above in Womens. I thought the coats looked like shiny trash bags on one side. The $7 boots were shiny too.

There was a small selection of the toys in the paper too. I guess they ordered less this year. I just need to get a TV and toys so keep your finger crossed for me..lol.

my coworker is camping out at midnight tonight for the laptop deal. her mom works for one of the local walmart's and walmart is only getting 15 of the laptops in the store...:scared1: she was told that they will have more tv's than that but everyone i've talked too is trying to get that laptop

I hope it will be too. And like I said I was shocked. I don't normally shop Walmart because it's too far from my house as compared to Target. We went there solely because it was the only place still open tonight where we could replace a broken wiper blade. I mean how can they advertise something as a door buster special to lure people into the store and have such limited quantities that less than 1% of the people going to the store are going to be able to get it. It's crazy. If these are the quantities they always have no wonder they had a riot last year.

Every store does this, not just WalMart. If you notice the fine print it ALWAYS says "limited quantities available, no rain checks." Hence the crazies camping outside of BestBuy since Wednesday!

My brother and his fiance are both department managers at a 24 hour Walmart. How it is done is customers are allowed to line up at the chosen item at midnight. They are given a voucher for the designated item, and they only have enough vouchers to cover their supply of merchandise. You can not get out of line, if you do you forfeit your voucher and spot in line. They do have what my brother called a " pee pass" to use the restroom. You are allowed 15 minutes, and if you are gone longer than that you also forfeit your voucher.

They just showed on the news that people are already starting to line up for Black Friday stuff-31 hours before the sale starts.:scared1:

We just came through Baltimore about 9:30 and people were camped out in front of Target, WalMart, and Best Buy.

DS and DDIL are camped out in front of the PX on Ft. Meade that will open at 3 am.

Not me. lol
