Walmart bathroom fixtures?

Any opinions on walmart bathroom fixtures? We want to spruce up our bathroom with some brushed nickel towel bars, lights, and faucets. The difference in price between Home Depot & Walmart is A LOT! I tend to be skeptical of the walmart items because it's not a name brand... What do you all think?

I haven't purchased low cost bathroom fixtures from Walmart, but I have from other places over the years.

My opinion, based on my experience is that they don't hold up or wear well long term.

My husband purchased a chrome, curved shower curtain rod after seeing one in a hotel room. Inexpensive from Home Depot, not a name brand. It was for the kid's bathroom, which is on the small side. That thing was covered in rust pretty quickly. The old one never had that problem!

The low end faucets that came in our bathroom's drove me crazy, because over time water and sediment were visible through the small plastic piece in the handle. Never looked clean. The stoppers in the sink lost their finish and looked grubby even when clean. I was so happy to replace those and did so with name brands from home depot. I'm very pleased with them.

I've also had problems with non recognized name brand kitchen faucets (yes 2!) and inexpensive hand towel rings.

So I don't purchase crazy high end, but I go for quality and will pay more for it. I do look for store coupons and sales when shopping. Many of these items have some sort of guarantee or warranttee and you can ask the sales people about that.

While there is a difference in price, there is also a difference in quality. When I was researching kitchen faucets for my remodel, I was told there is even a difference in quality when buying the same brand from a big box store versus a plumbing supply store. Several people recommended efaucets.com and faucetsdirect.com. They had good prices, better than Lowes or Home Depot, and offered free shipping.

You could buy a cheaper faucet from Walmart, but in the long run you might end up spending more if you have to replace it sooner.

Most will rust period.. It is just how they make things today
Faucets buy Moen, Delta, Price fistor I have all of these brands and necer a problem with any most over 6 years old and they look as good as they day we bought them..... You can get discounts watch Lowes and HD as change styles. I saw some recently in Lowes...
If you want to pay Retail for a faucet but it form a Plumbing supply store it may be a few dollars more than HD but the piece vlave systems are better....

HD and Lowes will clear out hardware as well.. sorry do not see it as being better I have 12 a set Lowes nickel hinges that are rusting..
ones I bought off ebay for 2.00 a set are fine

My theory with most easly replacable things is to but cheaper that looks expensive and replace as needed-- you will get tired of it and if you were to buy something that will last$$$$$$$$ it wil cost $$$$$$$$ and you may not like the way it looks

I did the same thing but with a toilet seat. Bought the walmart brand and had to replace it a month later. I should have bought the more expensive brand from Lowes the first time instaed of trying to save 3 dollars and change!!

If you don't need to do it right away just keep checking back in at HD or Lowes. We just redid our powder room and since we were in no rush we stalked the stores for sales. Ended up with really amazing deals on name brands. Also, most of the stores have a clearance section with discontinued items, check that out. The prices on some of those are unreal!

I feel that it is better that you buy bathroom fixtures like bath taps and basin mixers from online websites. When you buy from these online sites you will be able to save a lot of money.
