Wally!!

Can I point out how MEAN you all are!
I'm on week 2 of eating saw dust and tofu and you guys decide to derail this thread and discuss candy!

I blame MonorailMan!

Conck - where the heck did you get that recipe?! I actually like tofu but in mousse? I don't know. I think I might have to make it just for the curiosity factor.

Hey, don't make me play the "diabetic card".

Besides......saw dust with a sprinkling of lemon juice can be quite lovely.

I hear you Wally. I LOVE chocolate, but it HATES me, I turn into a pubescent teenager getting ready for the prom. If anyone knows what I mean. And I can't stand not being able to eat any.
As far as alternative though, I would look at Whole Food, you know they have Carob chips there, those are probably in the guidelines of the de-tox thingy your on.

I'm on week 2 of eating saw dust...

I don't think saw dust is allowed if you're trying to cleanse your system.

Actually, silken tofu can make a fabulous mousse (and many other kick-*** desserts--try pecan pie) with a little practice.

Wally -- If you're looking looking for candy...
- Find some vegan organic pure dark chocolate (I've seen it before, I'm just not sure where to get it.) It's usually better with a little bit of sweetening and organic dark chocolate is often sweetened with beet juice which ought to work.
- make a mix of nuts, dried fruits, coconut flakes, etc. (The fruits and coconut will sweeten the mix)
- melt the chocolate (either slowly on the stove, or, in the microwave)
- pour the chocolate over the nuts mix and stir
- drop spoonfuls onto wax paper (or something similarly non-stick)
- refrigerate

Not Allowed - No sugars of any kind - except agave
but thanks for trying

Just skip the syrup then. It'd probably be too sweet with me with the syrup in anyways.

Oh, and you know what's made from agave don't you???

Who'd of thought so much fun could come from such a common landscape plant?
Agave_americana_stalks.jpg

I thought those were Yucca?! Am I mistaken? My mother has them too, however, they don't get those really tall stalks on them like those.

Yucca is a taller plant, related to dracena.

It does get some great flower stems though..

LOL they use it A LOT down here, since it's draught resistant and likes the heat. Most people don't realize what you can make out of it... :rolleyes1
