Walls around Tree of Life at AK?

There was a recent post at easywdw showing so much contruction and walls around AK... oh well, nothing I can do. But from the pics it almost looked like the tree was walled off? Is that true? I thought I heard you should go up to the tree to see the detail, or maybe there are some animals up in that area to see... is that still there or accessible or ???

Just went to AK, and there are, like all the parks now, lots of walls around the area. Apparently they are building a huge light show or getting the boats running around the tree now. Something like that. But you can still see the tree, and there is a great view from the picture area/character landing in the back area. It's between Asia and Africa and sort of opposite the bird show area.

If you go see It's Tough to Be a Bug you will be able to walk up close to the tree and see the details.
