wallmart "ship to store" warning

Wallmart has what seems to be a nice feature on some online items, they will ship free to your local store and you can pick it up there, seems simple enough right, wrong. This is the second time I have used this feature, the first time it took 3 trips to the store for me to get my item, wallmart.com said it was at the store, the store said they did not have it, eventualy the store "found it" but what a PIA.
This time we ordered a playhouse for ds bday, $200 shipping forced me to pick "ship to store" again. After I placed the order on 9/9 I was informed that it would arrive between 9/26-10/1. That seemed pretty long but Ok I went along with it hoping for the best. Well 10/1 rolls around and nothing, when I wrote to customer service they told me it was "delayed" and they did not know when it would arrive. I replied again thanking them for stating the obvious that it was "delayed" but that I wanted more inormation.
Today I get a call saying that it was shipped to the wrong store but I could go get it. The store was not far so ok, I call to confirm and they tell me I have to drive to the original store and get the reciept and then drive to there store to pick it up! By now I am fuming, I call wallmart and just to get a real person took 10 minutes, I had to hit the fraud prompt just to get to a person.
To make a lomg story short my playhouse was sitting at this store for over a week, I could have had it in time for DS bday. AND the box is ripped up! I guess that I want to warn parents who are plannig to use this service, give LOTS of time for delivery and stay on them, if I did not keep bugging them I would have never found it.
Oh by the way I just got an email saying that my house was available for pickup at the original store, that I know is wrong since I have the house and we got it from a different store! Horrible system!!! I need to complain but I need to get the address of someone who will care, not the website, rant completed, thanks for listening!:goodvibes
 
Great I just order a movie and Wii accessory last night. Really wanted to watch Casper with DD for halloween so hopefully I'm OK.

I have never had a problem either. The only thing that stinks is that some items do not have this option..

Sorry you had a problem with this! I have never had a problem. I just wish more things could be shipped to store. Also, my things generally arrive sooner than their estimated time.
 
Thought I was the only one with problems from ship to store. Just a FYI, I made a big stink to Walmart customer service, I had ordered sheets, comforter sets for my DS's and it kept saying "In transit" for weeks after it was due to be delivered to the store.
I think it was sent somewhere else or got lost but anyway, I let Walmart know I was not happy, since my DS'S bedroom set was delivered and now, no comforter sets. They Fed Expressed it to me overnight, free shipping. I think that is their policy when they mess up.
 
Oh we had a TERRIBLE time with that! My FIL, who lives in FL, bought a computer online that he sent here, to TX, for his grandkids. My DH picked it up. In the meantime FIL found a MUCH better deal on a computer and asked us to return this one to Wal-Mart and just have them credit his CC back. We take it up there and they say they can't do that, they have to give a store credit??? What?? This wasn't our purchase to get store credit for and FIL wanted to have it credited back. The box had never been opened, all of the invoices and receipts are there. In fact THEY opened the little packet on the box with the invoice in it!

DH gets on the phone with FIL, FIL calls the store and asks for the manager.. it was a HUGE HUGE MESS! After an HOUR of back and forth, "I don't think we can do that", yadda yadda yadda pass-the-buck, they gave us a cash refund that we mailed to FIL so that he could then pay his credit card. It was utterly ridiculous! DH and I walked out of there saying that paying shipping would be totally worth it to not have to mess with them again!
 
We have used ship to the store without a problem also. Wonder if it is certain areas? Sorry it has been such trouble for you.
 
Never had a problem with ship to store until today. I needed to return something and when I went to return it, they wanted to give $12 less than I paid for it since the store charges less than the website! I showed my invoice and what I paid and demanded my money. I am furious that the store charges less than the website since the store didn't have the items to begin with!
 
Wow, that's a terrible experience! I use it ALL the time and have never had a problem. I do remember now, though, to always account for a VERY lengthy delivery time. If I want something soon, it's not going to happen.:confused3
 
So sorry that you've had problems. We've STS a few times and our items have always arrived ahead of the estimated delivery date.
