This new house of mine has a wall oven, and although I adore its look/style.. I have a few questions on operation...

Does the tempature run high on them in general or is it this model?

I bake cookies the recipe says 350 for 9 -11 minutes and I do that and they burn... I decreased the oven time and they were better...

Its completely encased and chrome if that means anything to anyone.. its gas as well..

I don't, but my mother does.

You don't have an oven that switches from convectional to conventional do you?

My mom does have to adjust some baking times but she has the dual oven.

I have a dual wall oven (both regular) and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! I use both ovens and can get cookie baking done in 1/2 the time, bake a pie and pizza at the same time, etc.

You may want to buy an oven themometer and just check to see if the temp is out of wack though so you can make the adjustments to your cooking time.

I have double wall ovens as well. Are yours gas or electric? When we built our house we researched which we should get and most people agreed that electric are generally more accurate.

That said, when I am using both of my ovens at the same time, the bottom one occasionally runs too hot. Otherwise, I haven't really had any problems. I think getting an oven thermometer and testing it is a good idea. You can always have someone come out and adjust it if it is off.

I have a gas wall oven. It always burned whatever I baked so I got a thermometer to put inside. I find that the temp is consistently 15º higher than what the dial says.

We got new double wall ovens when we remodeled last year. The temperature was too low and had to be "recalibrated".
It was easy enough to do with the instructions but I don't think we made it high enough yet.
I always set the temp 25 degrees higher.
I guess I should get the book out again.

Its a gas wall oven/broiler.... not sure if it is convection or not...

I don't think it is though.. its an older model.. but it runs really well, (if anything its too high.. not low)

I'll have to see if the brochure (the home owner saved everything) has something about calibrating, or if the gas company does that... there is a thermometer in there... (I guess the former owner had the same problem), so I'll have to replace that.. its hard to read...

I don't think I will ever go back to a regular oven again... my burners are on the counter.. and I love that as well...
