walkup on the DDP?

Has anyone bann able to walkup at TS for a meal while on the dining plan? We've made our ressies, and we won't have a TS left over for the day we leave. Since we are driving, we are planning on leaving around 4:00p.m It is about an 8 hour drive home. We purposely didn't make reservations because we want to use the last morning and early afternoon to go back to our favorite park-and we don't know that yet! Obviously, that means we can't make an ADR either. Has anyone ever been able to walk up to a restaurant at breakfast and get a table? We are thinking of trying Kona Cafe because we can just go to Captain Cooks if we can't get into Kona. Oh, and obviously, we will be paying OOP for this meal.

I'm a little confused by your question.

When are you going? Whether or not you can get a walk up at a TS on any given day just depends on how busy the restaurant is. Whether or not you are on a dining plan makes no difference in whether or not you'll get a table, it just depends on how busy it is.

Your plan seems reasonable -- try Kona as a walk up and have Cap't Cook's as your back-up; the earlier you arrive the more likely you are to get a table.
