Is there a walking trail between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge? I’d read that it closed but when I looked for directions on MDE it says to walk.

I thought it was closed, too....but if not, that would be great!

The folks over at the Wilderness Lodge or Wilderness Campground resort threads might be able to answer this for you-

Yeah, it is still closed. Parts were torn up when Disney started Reflections site work and Disney seems content to leave it as is for now. Unfortunately.

thanks for the info! So what’s the best way to get between the two resorts? We hoping to do lunch at Whispering Canyon and beers at Crockett’s Tavern.

Well hopefully Disney eventually brings back the Blue Flag boat that goes between CR-FW-WL….but since that isn’t an option at the moment your best bet would be boat from WL to MK (or bus from WL to MK as an alternative) then switch the to boat form MK to FW. Not the most direct route, but at least it’s a pretty boat ride.

There should be a bus that runs between FW and WL, at least I have taken one in the past. I stopped at WL in July for dinner at WCC and as we were leaving, I thought I saw one labeled FW.

Thank you for mentioning that as I completely forgot about the bus - yes, there is a bus between WL and FW and it’s been running since reopening…. definitely a better option than my MK boat transfer suggestion.

Just want to add, like @easyas123 has said best to ask Fort questions in the Camping forum. Great bunch there and someone is always checking in or out at Fort Wilderness so the most up to date info and answers are there. That's my default page when I log in here. I just happen to have been bored and was going through other forums when I saw your post @Missmaureen78.

Thank you! I didn’t realize there was such a forum! Of course…the whole reason I wanted to visit FW was to entice my DH into coming to WDW more. We’re huge campers and can work remotely. A few minutes on the Camping forum and I learn how difficult that might be. 500 days!
