Not sure if I should post this on the resorts or restaraunts board but....it involved food so I figured I'd try my luck here.

We have a ps for Cape May clambake at around 5:00 pm this Thurs. I thought it might be quicker to hang out at Epcot for awhile and then walk over. We have never done "the walk"before, have always taken busses. Is it really quicker to walk and is it clearly marked, don't want to get lost.

We need help ASAP...leaving tomorrow night.

The walk from World Showcase to the Beach Club is just minutes! Cape May is in the Beach Club. You'll have to walk by the Villas and past Stormalong Bay.

It will be light at 5:00 so you should have no problem.

p.s.
We loved the clambake! We ate there two nights in a row!

Hmmm...

Take the World Showcase (International Gateway) exit just pass the UK...follow Crescent Lake to the right.

IF you pass Stormalong Bay you've gone too far...right before it you take the walkway into the Beach Club where Cape May is located just off the lobby.

Take the stroll back to catch Illuminations afterwards.

Let us know if they still have the Chocolate Mouse Oreo's!

My favorite snack (dessert) at WDW...anywhere else have them?

Cape May is fairly easy to find - look for the double glass doors and white rocking chairs in front of them - go in those doors and look to your left. The EPCOT exit is between France and UK - it is probably less than 10 minutes even at a slow pace. If you cross the shipwreck overhead you've gone too far...

Oh - and they had the recipe for those Oreo Bon Bons in the last DVC magazine - PM me if you need the recipe. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be to make, although it would take some time just because you are making individual treats. They would be a really cool thing for a pot luck or party though - everyone loves being able to pick up finger foods!

Can you post the Oreo Bon Bon recipe, the Cape May Buffet is one of our favorites and I would love to surprise my DH. Also if you need any recipes from the Boma I have a number of them including Zebra Domes.

We did the same thing just last Saturday! It is indeed about a 10 minute walk (or less) from the entrance of the International Gateway to the Beach Club. Currently, there is scaffolding on the exterior of the Beach Club....turn right after that corner. You'll see big double doors leading into Beach Club, and Cape May is just to the left once you enter. We parked at the Beach Club earlier (we had a PS), and walked through the Resort before taking the International Gateway to Epcot to spend a bit of time in the World Showcase. That way, we were familiar with the way back and had no trouble getting there later!

The food was yummy, and the desserts were even better!!!

Oreo Bon Bons

For the mousse:
16 oz. heavy cream
6 egg yolks
16 oz. white chocolate
4 gelatin sheets or 2 tbs. powdered gelatin place in 3 oz water
1 dozen Oreo Cookies (crumbled)
3 dozen Oreo Cookies (whole)

For the ganache:
16 oz. dark chocolate
16 oz. heavy cream

1. Prepare the mousse: Melt chocolate. Whip 16 oz. heavy cream until consistency of ice cream. Place gelatin in cold water. Heat egg yolks until warm; add chocolate, stirring constantly. Place gelatin in microwave until gelatin is dissolved. While gelatin is heading, add one third of heavy cream to the egg yolk and white chocolate mixture; mix well. Add a little of the cream to the heated gelatin and mix well. Then add both the gelatin mixture and the chocolate mixture to the remaining shipped cream and fold until incorporated. Fold in crumbled cookies, mixing well. Let mousse set up, around 2-4 hours. (I'm assuming in the fridge but it doesn't specify.)

2. Prepare the ganache: Over light heat, melt 16 oz. chocolate into 16 oz. of heavy cream, mixing until combined.

3. To serve: Place 3 dozen Oreo Cookies on a sheet pan. Pipe mousse onto cookies, and dip into ganache.

Oh my, I LOVE the Oreo treats! I believe that these were also on the Boma buffet. Whatever it is I had, they were even yummier than the Zebra Domes IMO.

As for the walk, this is one of my favorite strolls in all of WDW. It's very pleasant and just the right length.

:earseek: OH NO :earseek:

You had to go and list the recipe....I was trying to get in shape for our visit next month so I could pig-out on them!

Guess I'll try and wait to make these until after we get back so I can refresh my memory (tastebuds).
:jester:

Thanks again....

Hi there... I was just at BC for a week and as much as I HATE to walk - I admit it is just the easiest, fastest walk from the WS to the BC.

Don't go as far as stormalong... take your first right into the main rear entrance in to the BC... then walk left through the pretty lobby to Cape May.. have a great time.

>>^..^<<

Thanks for posting the Oreo Bon Bon Recipe, can't wait to recapture a little Disney Magic!

Okay - I'm a glutton for punishment! I found this on WDWIG...

Zebra Domes

Yield: 16 servings

Ingredients:

1 pound milk chocolate
¼ cup espresso coffee
5 egg yolks
¼ cup + 1 tablespoon sugar
6 sheets gelatin
½ cup Kahlua Liqueur
4 cups heavy cream
¾ cup white chocolate ganache
¼ cup dark chocolate ganache

Method:

1. Melt milk chocolate.
2. Whip heavy cream to soft peaks.
3. Mix yolks with sugar.
4. Soften gelatin leaves in cold water.
5. Mix gelatin with Kahlua and coffee. Set bowl over hot water bath to dissolve the gelatin.
6. Fold 1/3 of whipped cream into the chocolate.
7. Add the yolks, then the gelatin mixture.
8. Fold in the rest of the cream.
9. Pour mousse in flexipan domes almost to the top.
10. Place sponge circle (1/4" thick yellow cake cut in a circle) on top. Leave in the freezer to set.
11. Once hard, unmold and place in glazing racks.
12. Make white chocolate ganache and chocolate ganache.
13. Put chocolate ganache in a pastry bag. Ladle white chocolate ganache to cover each dome. Simultaneously, pipe a stripe design of chocolate ganache over the dome.
14. Refrigerate to allow the glaze to set.
15. Decorate the bottom edge with coffee crunch.
16. Place a chocolate covered coffee bean on the center of each dome.

Note: One sheet of gelatin is equal to one teaspoon of unflavored powdered gelatin dissolved in ¼ cup of water.

And I'm a WISH member too!!
