The last day of our trip was a day full of dress code violations.
We went to the lounge that evening for some appetizers before our big meal at Narcooses. The appetizers were great, as usual. They had a whiskied shrimp thing, and a beef thing. Sorry, I cant get more technical than calling them things They had some very fancy hors douvres with names that I couldnt pronounce.
I was kind of shocked when I noticed a woman and her two older children at the table getting their plates. The kids were older as in about 8 or 9 years old. The shocking part was that the kids were not wearing any shoes.
Thats right, they were barefoot with nary a flip flop in sight.
I watched them when they sat down to eat, and they didnt even have them under the table. I watched one of the staff members going up to the table, but she was just engaging in chit chat. No one said a word about the lack of shoes.
The second dress code violation happened when we went to dinner at Narcooses. Now that restaurant has a dress code, with no cut off, ripped jeans etc allowed.
I was stressing over that, since Ben just had a clean black t-shirt and a pair of beige shorts to wear. John had a dress shirt (since he wears a lot of those normally) and of course I had a nice dressy outfit.
Well, I neednt have worried.
We checked in and sat down to wait, and in walked a family wearing you guessed it an assortment of pool cover-ups, flip flops, fashion ripped jeans on the older woman, and cutoff jean shorts on the two teenaged girls. The one girl was wearing burgundy undies. Just ask me how I know!
Then in came a nicely dressed couple, and then a few more families who were distinctly underdressed. As we were being seated I jokingly said to the hostess I thought there was a dress code here? She replied oh there is and we enforce it if we see violations of it Uh right ..
Well after dinner, which wasnt as good as Jiko IMO, John and I changed and went to MK to catch the parade (finally!) and Wishes. MSEP was not as I remembered it, but I think the music was. I still like Spectro better, but did manage to cry during most of MSEP.
It brought back a lot of memories. Like I said, I think it was the music. We saw Wishes on Main Street and then headed back to GF to pack.
