Walking, is it allowed or needed?

I am going to try to set up a ressie for THV the beginning of November and wondering if I should "walk" the ressie. Is "walking" still allowed or even needed with the existing system, I realize it will take a bunch of points to do it which is ok. I also realise the dates may be taken by owners of SS but that's life.

There is no advantage to "walking" a reservation if it is not at your home resort, or even at your home resort after the 11/7 window has closed.

Walking would only be an advantage at your home resort at the start of the 11 month window, as that would virtually guarantee the ability to extend a reservation. There is no such advantage/guarantee any other time.
