Hi,

Can anyone tell me about the walk times/distance from the various SSR/OKW sections to DTD?
We are about to book SSR or OKW for 6 x nights in December and would like to be able to walk in to DTD in the evenings.
I understand that the Congress Park section of SSR is closest - via the foot path - how much further is it to go from the Grandstand section?

We are really torn between this resort (SSR) and OKW.
I understand that you can also walk to DTD from OKW - has anyone done this?
I know that the rooms are slightly larger in OKW - we will be booking a 2 x Bed unit - are there any advantages apart from size over SSR?

Sorry - lots of questions I know! I'm sure we will have a fantastic time wherever we stay but just want to make sure we dont regret booking one resort and then wishing we had booked the other!

Does anyone have any photo's of the waklways?

Remember, DTD is a big place. The walkway from SSR-Congress Park goes to the East side. The walkway from SSR-Grandstand/Springs goes to the West Side.

Here's a map that will give you some idea of the distance. It starts at the edge of OKW (remember, it can take a while to get from some parts of OKW to this edge), along the path past the bridge to SSR (grandstand/Springs), then over to DTD-West Side. It's about a mile to the middle of West Side. Then I continue through DTD to the East side and along the path the the middle of SSR-Congress Park. That's another mile.

The walk from the area of building 55 (southpoint) is about 15-25 minutes at a casual walk. Of course this only gets you to the west end of DTD, to walk all the way to the other end can take another 15 minutes. Sorry no pictures.

We have stayed in both places and like them both. OKW is much larger. There is more seating in the living room area. The decor is quite different. Have you had a chance to look at pictures?

I wouldn't want to walk from OKW, but taking the boat is very pleasant.

The walk from building 55 at OKW to the Cirque Du Soliel parking lot takes us about 15 minutes. It's a nice walk in the daylight, but you wont want to do it at night, since the path is not lighted.

We love taking the ferry to DTD from OKW. The reality is though, it's a LOT quicker to walk or drive (if you have a car).

We stayed at CP on our last trip and walked to DD three times during our stay. It's a ten or fifteen minute walk at most.

Following the path from, OKW Bldg 55 to DtD Westside is .93 miles.
