Walking from Portofino Bay

When walking to the parks from Portofino Bay, do you walk through/by the hard rock hotel? How long is the walk to US and IOA? Is it easier to wait for the water taxis?

Also what do you think is the easiest way to pool hop?

Yes, you need to walk past the Hard Rock to get to the parks. You can either follow that path along with waterways or take a shortcut that goes through the HRH parking lots. The walk along the walkway is about 15 minutes and the shortcut is about 10. Add another 5 minutes to get to IOA.

We took the shortcut through the HRH parking lot every morning and it was a quick walk to the parks. We used the water taxi when we came back for breaks in the afternoon or coming back from the parks at night.

We use the water taxi or cut thru, never the path.

We have used the shortcut thru HRH parking ,the boats and the walking path.The walking path really is beautiful in the morning and we enjoy the leisurely walk( I also will run it in the early early am for exercise)

We hug the hotel more on the shortcut (pretty much a straight line from the straight paved walkway leaving the Studios), but there's a couple curbs to go over and occasionally you'll have to briefly suffer through some pretty bad dumpster smells.
