Walking from POR to... anywhere?

Majorly stoked about my upcoming trip to POR, and was wondering if it’s within walking distance of anything... parks, resorts, etc. I know you can take the boat to Downtown Disney (which I plan to do... any time there's a boat, I'm on it!), but wasn't sure if you might be able to walk anywhere else.

Hey, I just realized I hit the 100 post mark! Not bad for someone who originally signed up to get a simple question answered... guess it's like going to the store for a loaf of bread and winding up with a cartful of goodies!

Hi Richard,

I have stayed at the French Quarter many times, it is my favorite resort, but unfortunately not within walking distance to anything. You really need to use the bus service or the boat to Downtown Disney. I have never had a problem with buses and I would be staying there again in December if it wasn't for the rehab. Enjoy your stay there.

You used to be able to get to POFQ which is about a 10 minute walk along the river, but with it being closed up I'm pretty sure the walk is closed off as well. Epcot is the nearest park, but not within walking distance. You pretty much need motorized transportation to get anywhere from Riverside.

the only thing POR is in walking distance to is PO-FQ. ...and vice versus.

the boat is NICE !!!

I know how you feel. I too, just signed up to ask a simple question! Now, with the knowledge I've gained from these boards and trips to WDW, family, friends and coworkers seem to seek me out in order to ask the "Disney Guy" questions.

We'll be at POR in December and we're looking forward to it. This was to be our very first resort visited. We have gotten such good rates in the past that we decided to try those resorts instead.
