When we stayed at the WL in the North Wing, the walk to the boat dock and Roaring Forks was not bad. How would you compare walking from a standard room at the CR to the monorail and the Food & Fun Center? Lot more, little more, etc. We would of course request a room as close to main building as possible since my dad has mobility issues, but we could also request north wing at WL again, too. Any recommendations appreciated.

CR standard room - I assume a Garden Wing.

The Wings have one side closest to the tower and the other side closest to the water. The water end has wonderful views. The tower ends have more of a Garden or pool view.

From the CR Garden Wings - you are a hop and skip right into the pools, to rent a boat from the Marina, to take a water transportation boat to WL.

If you are at the water side - give yourself 5 minutes to walk to the tower 1st floor door.
If you are at the tower side - give yourself 1 minute to walk to the tower 1st floor door.

Now once inside the tower - 1st floor door.
Walk a few steps into the tower - the Food & Fun Center (refillable mug area and BEST game room in WDW) is right there.
To get to the Monorail - walk a bit further from the 1st floor door - up a slight ramp to the lobby. Now take the elevator or escalator or stairs to the 4th floor- main concourse. Here you will find many shops, Chef Mickeys, Concourse Steak House and the monorail.

Look at the mozaic mural on the center pillar. There is a goat and other animal designs.

Once you get to the monorail - ask to sit in the front, only 4 people allowed.
It's a nice ride - you will only be bumped if a GF person wants the front cab.

CR is the first stop on the way back from MK. Very nice at the end of the day.
It's the first stop on the way to MK - so you will always find a seat.
Monorail order - CR, then Poly, then TTC, then GF, then MK, and back to CR..
the loop continues.

To get to EPCOT- take the monorail to TTC and switch to the EPCOT/TTC line.
You can ask to sit in the front cab here too.

Laundy self service area is also located in the Garden Wings.

CR is a wonderful resort. Enjoy :cool1:

Pooh2001, thanks for the detailed reply, and the bump. Which rooms have you stayed at the CR? WL? Just wondered--if you are in lake view rooms is the walk a lot more than at the WL? Thanks.
