When we leave Animal Kingdom to head to our dinner reservation at BOMA, will we be able to walk there? Or will we need to board a bus?? I had a look at the map and it looks like we could walk, but maps can sometimes be deceiving!

Thoughts??

Get on the bus! It was a long and winding road when we visited a few months ago and walking would be very long, and especially would not be easy in the dark.

There is no way I would want to walk it.

Honestly, I don't think you can even walk it. There is no walking path and no real way to get to the road out of AK. Take the AKL bus from AK if you don't have your own vehicle. Or you can cab it.

cant be done, the whole place is not set up to walk from anywhere to anywhere else. now i know someone will want to come on and say you can walk from the MK to CR or SSR to DTD, but you know what i mean. some resorts its darn near a 15 minute walk to your own restaurant.

No walking path---take the bus.

The bus ride from AK to AKL is about 5 minutes. Take the bus. :)

There are very limited resorts with walking distance to parks. They are:

Contemporary Resort:
Short walk to the Magic Kingdom. None of the other MK resorts have a direct walking path.

Boardwalk/Yacht Club/Beach Club(Villas)/Swan/Dolphin:
Walking distance to Epcot and Disney MGM Studios. But boat rides are a good thing during the hot and humid months.

That's basically it.

We have the same dinner plan. However, from what I hear of AK you will not want to walk after spending the day there. We will happily board the bus to AKL and save our steps for touring the resort and trips to the buffet!

You will be hot and sweaty from being at DAK. Definitely get on the bus for the short ride to AKL. If you have never been to Boma, you are going to love it. The buffet is very different. Alot of African inspired dishes. We walked thru and just took about a tablespoon of each item. Then went back to get more of what we liked. It is a huge buffet. And you need to save room for the best part: the dessert buffet. Zebra domes rule!

It's going to be my first time there and I'm REALLY excited to try it out! From what I've heard, it's going to be such a treat... I'm particularly anticipating those zebra domes!!!

Amen to no walking...

We have taken many friends as first timers to Boma's....all loved it...

Our advice to them....take a little of the many many choices...especially the wonderful soups and salads...you can fill up quickly so just a sample of each and then take more of what you really like...you will get to try some things you have never seen before, so don't head for the prime rib right away...it is great, but good prime rib can be found lots of places...
The Zebra domes are very good, but the true adventure of Boma's is the many different salads and soups and entrees...

Enjoy...Ted
