Hello again (I've been asking a lot of questions lately :))

As my check-in date looms closer (OW YEAH!) I'm starting to stress a bit ahaha.
So many things coming at me haha.

Anyway my girlfriend and I were looking around to see if we could get to a Target somehow.

Sadly we can't rent a car yet (haven't had a drivers license for that long and insurance won't allow it)

So is this Target on 3200 Rolling Oaks Blvd, Kissimmee.
is it available for people who want to walk? is it doable? from say Animal Kingdom Lodge? or is it better with the bus?

TIA

I'm guessing you're going to want to taxi though. You'd have to cross a major road and I don't see sidewalks readily available. Have you looked at a map yet?

There's not a lot of the area that is safely walkable. A few resorts have walking paths that connect to another resort or a park, but Animal Kingdom has nothing, and I sure wouldn't want to walk along the roads around there. There are no sidewalks, so you're walking along the road with cars zooming past you.

You can budget for cabs and put the Mears cab number in your phone. There are so many cabs in the WDW area that you'll never have to wait long. From the Animal Kingdom, you can get a cab just by walking to the front driveway and asking them to call you one. From the Target or other store, just call Mears and ask them to send a cab.

If you just want to take one trip off-property, a cab may be cheaper even than a rental car would be, depending on how far you need to go.

Here's a more accurate fare estimator:

You may also want to look into grocery delivery services. They will also usually deliver other sundries, and some of them will go and get specific items from specific stores for a fee. Garden Grocer and WeGoShop are both commonly recommended, though I've never used either one.

Your only option is a taxi, but it's going to cost you about $40 round trip. You can get groceries delivered through gardengrocer.com or wegoshop.com

Thank you so much for the answers :)

And yeah i had a look at the map and I didn't see any sidewalks either but I'm not that familiar at all with the surroundings maybe there were some secret paths xD

And thankyou for the cab tips i did put the Mears number in my phone just in case!
It's so huge for me can you imagine that the town i live in is only a bit smaller then 6mi2 and has about 28.000 people living in it!
According to google maps this walk from AKL to target would be about 6mi.

Many thanks for the grocery tips. I read some people did that on here and it sounds like a good plan but it would seem we would go for the delivering option.

Also as for walking at the side of the road. Besides the whole safety thing... Are you even allowed to walk there? I can imagine someone calling the cops fairly quick o.O

Many many thanks

If there isn't a sidewalk, you aren't supposed to be walking there. Please stay off the grass and side areas of the roadways!!! It just isn't safe!! And yes, you will be stopped.

Hah....From where I sit, you live in the BIG city. :rotfl: Your city is more than four times the size of mine. I'm originally from Detroit, so I can handle Orlando. But DW refuses to drive in any of the actually big cities that we drive through.

Here's another way to do it:

get to the TTC... walk around the front end to the LYNX bus stop.

LYNX Buses are $2 cash each ride.. and I think you can ask for a transfer to the second bus below.

Take Bus #56 and ask for a transfer. It goes down World Drive until it exits WDW and begins to make stops as it heads eastbound on US 192. Get off at any marked bus stop near a traffic light.

Cross the street and find the nearest bus stop (you are now on the North side of US 192, with the westbound lanes)

Board bus #55 heading westbound. Get off at the stop outside Rolling Oaks.

Just reverse the plan to get back, and don't forget to ask for a transfer. If you will have any heavy or awkward stuff to carry back, a taxi would be better!
