I know there are several of our WISH Team mates who are suffering with injuries right now. This is just a gentle reminder that there is no shame in walking. There are times when running just won't work for you. Walking will keep you strong and healthy and then when you are recovered you can go back to running if you want to.
I'm not anti running, I wish I still had the option of doing both, maybe someday. But walking works all your muscles and is way easier on your knees and joints.
I tried for 2 years to keep running injured and watched my running times get worse and worse. I finally got tired of limping up to a starting line because I wanted to do the race.
If you are just starting out walking can build your body to where it can withstand the pressures of running long distance.
So if you have to lay off the running for a while we WISH walkers welcome you.
