Walked first 2 miles!

I usually only walk a mile.. but I decided I needed to walk more to get a better cardio.. so this morning I woke up and walked the 2 mile trail! I'm so happy.
 
Great job! I have been walking at least 3 miles a day in an hour and it can be tough to get started in the morning! Once I get going I'm fine but until then I can easily find 100 other things I'd rather be doing. Keep it up!
 
I have been actually looking forward to walking at the local Audubon Society. But yesterday I got chased by a goose and I was scared to walk that path again. Today I had my cousin walk with me and it went well. I don't know how it will be by myself. But I will manage I'm sure.

For me though, I'm still a kid (at heart even though I'm 23) and I don't have much to do beside my research and I can only spend so many hours reading, so the walk helps me clear my mind. Other than that I have nothing to do but sit on the computer or watch tv. And I figure if I'm out there walking then its a whole lot better than sitting on my bum.

I also find that the most satisfying thing to be out on the trail. It becomes addictive and it is the BEST thing.

If you are finding that you are getting more interested, there is a weekly thread on the events forum for people who are walkers/runners. Folks post up how they are doing and you do not have to be an elite athlete to participate. It is for everyone and all are welcome, just jump in and introduce yourself.

All you need to do is go to the top of this WISH thread. You will find a link for Events/Competition. Click on that. On the list there you will see Wk of May14--WISH Walking/Running Club. Click on the last page and post to say hi.

The date of "Wk of" changes.

There are all ability/experience/age levels. It is a great mix of folks. Don't be shy.
