Hi! We are staying at OKW next August, and whilst I will be incredibly organised with my ADRs, I have a feeling that my plans may go awry towards the second week, with kids, weather and just last minute change of plans perhaps meaning cancellation of some ADRs. What I do know is, we will spend a fair bit of time around DD, so I was wondering if it is possible to do walk-ups to Planet Hollywood,(I know it gets mixed reviews, but it would do us fine), lunch at Raglan Road,(I know dinner is busy), and also maybe Olivia's. Are there any other resort restaurants that would be a safe bet for a walk-up even in August? Thanks:):)

August makes the call a little harder.

First of all, Since you are staying at OKW, you have on one the nicest resort restaurants right there and it is a pretty good bet for a walk up or short wait. Olivia's is on my "must eat at" list whether we are staying at OKW or not. It's is not fine dining, it is very good food served by very good servers.

Planet Hollywood - not my favorite - haven't been in years so I can't comment

Ragland Road - can be busy, but is good food.

Resorts that are a boat ride to DTD and then back to the resorts (or a short car trip if you are driving): POR, POFQ & SSR and they are all good food choices, POR's food court is a pretty good one. for TS places Boatwrights at POR can be busy for dinner, The Turf Club Grill at SSR is good also - can be a good bet for a walk up.

We were able to get a walk-up at Planet Hollywood in May. We thought it was a lot of fun and some really neat decor.

Thank-you. We will have a car so we don't mind driving to other resorts. We have free dining, so a lot of my ADRs are about the fun of the restaurant for the kids rather than fine dining, e.g Planet Hollywood. As long as we can get an edible steak, we will be OK. Olivia's seems to be a fairly safe bet for a walk-up.:)

I think you'll enjoy Olivia's. We almost always stay at our home resort of OKW and always head there, usually for breakfast or lunch, at least once on each trip. We make ADR's, but I think you'll be okay without them.

Raglan Road is fun and the food is good. Try for lunch; it might be an easier time to snag a table.

Planet Hollywood is okay; we have not been there for several years. The food was okay, but the noise level was, IMHO, deafening. :sad2: Maybe that's changed or maybe I'm just hyper-sensitive. ;)

Last January I was looking for an ADR for dinner at Raglan Road and they were full but someone from the Disboards told me that you can make reservations on opentable.com and we got them! I think they must give only some spots to the Disney reservation system. Hopefully this will make it easier for a walk up HTH! :goodvibes
