I am not saying this happens all the time.. or that I have any experience with it other than my own from the day before yesterday.
But I thought I should mention that we had an ADR for Le Cellier a few days ago for a 10 minutes after the restaurant opened for dinner. While waitin gto be seated we saw 5 different parties ranging in size from 2 to 5 persons given a table by walking up and asking at opening.
I realize this may not be the norm... but I thought I would mention if you are dying for something and have been trying and trying for a ressie.. then you can always try a walk up at opening.
Not guaranteed by any means.. but maybe worth a shot?
