I'm just wondering which TS restaurants in the parks are you mostly likely going to be able to get a seat at without a reservation? I do have some adrs that are my must do's but I'm looking for some flexability and don't know if I will always want a QS meal.

These are all maybes, because I have never tried to walk up to them. Also, definition of walk-up is relative. You might be able to get more things, if you are willing to wait 45 minutes or more. Also, it depends upon the time of year.

AK - Tiffins
Epcot - Marrakesh, Nine Dragons
MK - Maybe Skipper Canteen, Plaza is walk-up only now I think, I would have said Tony's but maybe not with the parade dining package now
Disney Springs - Homecoming (at the bar at a minimum), Morimoto bar, possibly others like Bongos or Wolfgang Puck

I know you can't get walkups to Biergarten or Kona at the Poly. I've tried:(

I forgot about the Landry's restaurants. If you belong to the Landry's Select Club (free I believe), you get priority seating (almost like an ADR). These include Rainforest Cafe (AK & DS), T-Rex, and maybe Yak & Yeti. You also get coupons and birthday stuff when you sign up. It's good at Landry's locations outside of Orlando too.

Landry's card cost $25, but you get a $25 credit the first time you go.

OP, the best thing to do is use MDE during the day when you know what you would like and check then. Folks report being turned away as a walkup, but get an ADR for 45 minutes in the future and being seated.

The Plaza is walk up only except for from 11 to 1 (I believe those are the hours)
But really, outside of the places designed to take walk ups, why not just get on the app and make an ADR. We do this about an hour before we want to eat. Works like a champ. And we know we'll get seated. Why gamble when you don't have to? Because odds are, if there are no ADR to be found that means they are full and if they are full they may not take a walk up.

I do what the others do. I'll check the MDE app before we want to eat to see if there is any availability at a restaurant close by. If there is, we'll walk up or simply make the ADR. We've had success doing this at Spice Road Table and Biergarten. We have the most success in EP simply because of the amount of restaurants there. MK, I've found is the hardest (we did walk up to BOG for lunch once though! We were only a party of 2 and I saw a reservation for 1 on MDE, so decided to try.), so we typically do QS there (we like Columbia Harbour House) or leave and eat lunch somewhere on the monorail. We rarely eat lunch in DHS so I haven't tried it there. We are going to WDW in just a few days and only have 3 ADR's for the whole trip (and 2 of those are special events), we will wing the rest and I'm pretty confident we will always find something to eat! And, you might be surprised by what you can find day-of. We've gotten Garden Grill and even Chef Mickey's as day-of reservations.

For AK, I second the suggestion of getting a Landry's Card. As PP mentioned, it's $25, but that $25 goes toward your bill, plus you get an extra $25 during your birthday month. The card will get you priority seating at Yak and Yeti and Rainforest Cafe in AK (plus Rainforest and TRex in DS). I have ours packed and ready to go for our trip so we can simply eat at Yak & Yeti when it fits into our schedule that day.

Another one for just made your ADRs on the fly while in the park. We never make advance ADRs any earlier than possibly the night before and that is rare. We have been known to have success at Spice Road Tables with walking up and the Mexican restaurant on the lake (sorry I get the two confused). We've also walked up to Skipper's Canteen and in September when I was in AK there was walk up available for Tiffins but it hadn't been open very long yet.

I agree with other posters on using the MDE app that day. If you are OK with leaving the parks check the app for resort restaurants near the park you are in.

Plaza Restaurant only takes ADRs from 11 to 12

life has changed. Most places will not take walkups even if there is capacity. Book an air same day. check and see what is available, lots of folks cancel night before :)

If you have a chance at all you want to go during off peak hours and lunch is a better time than dinner. In others words noon is out and 6 pm is out; those are peak times. We have had success when a restaurant first opens for lunch like 11 am or late dinner like 9 pm.

Popular restaurants are out. Biergarten has worked for us. Hollywood and Vine has worked. Tony's Square is worth a try.

You still may have a wait wherever you go if you can get into a place.

As others stated there are cancellations; so, try your MDE app to check out wherever you are. You may snag a last minute reservation. It's worth a try.

ADR availability was incredible last week within 24 hours... I even saw harder to get ADRs like Chef Mickey's. Not EVERYTHING but there was quite a good variety of places available day of. I think a lot of people change their minds last minute.
