Walk up for Artist Point?

Our TA completely dropped the ball on ALL our ADRs (we have a split stay so two different dates to book things) and the only one we couldn't get when I booked them myself was Artist Point. We are staying at WL so it's not out of our way to go in hopes of getting a walkup, but are people having luck with walkups? It's just me and DD for their 14th birthday. They're still loving character meals so we're hoping to get in here.

Oh no! That's so frustrating. I imagine it'd be quite difficult to get a walkup there since they have such short hours, but if you have an afternoon available that you want to go, might be a good idea to go early, maybe 15 minutes before opening and see if you can get on a wait-list. I suppose the rest of your party would need to be prepared for them to say anything from we can seat you immediately to nothing at all.

When are you going? I have a reservation for end of July that I’m likely going to drop (we have two reservations and we plan to keep the earlier one but want to make sure that they can combine our 2 reservations for 5 into one for 10 before we cancel the later one that is for 10 people

Definitely keep checking for reservations, and if you still can't get one then show up right at opening. In April I asked the desk about openings and this is what they said: If there are last minute cancellations or any no-shows they will take a waitlist for about 30 minutes after opening. If there is room on the list, you'll get a wait time and they'll text you when the table is ready.

With TP alerts, you essentially have to jump online to try to grab immediately because they go so quick. With the thread, you can sometimes coordinate a convenient time for them to drop and you to pick it up.

Neither option is 100% guarantee you'll get it, but coordinating at least gives you a better shot. Sometimes you have to refresh for a few minutes after they release before it shows up too.

If you don't get one by time you go ... speak with the concierge at the hotel given you are staying there. Perhaps they can help.

Keep trying, people drop all the time. I picked up Rose & Crown Fireworks Package not long before our trip.

I haven’t seen it available on walk ups, but it might have just been full when I looked. I did get a reservation day of there in December just before Christmas. I was searching around lunch time for dinner and one popped up. So it is possible to get one last minute

I set up TP alerts and they have come through but usually during the middle of the night. Does that happen to others too?

ughhhhhh, I got a notification from TP that they had an opening but I was changing my grandson's diaper and I missed it. Finally got one during the day and I still missed it.

We were just at disney this past week and there were 2 or 3 days that I randomly looked and Artist Pointe was available and I was looking for a party of 10. So don’t give up and definitely check while you are there
