Ok I know this isn't a Disney race but I'm registered for this as a way to stay motivated right now and push myself with the fall weather by that point to get back on track with my walking/running program. I've been trying to keep up on it, but the weather in the Midwest is doing its best to keep me from it. We have another heat advisory today on top of the already week plus of advisories & warnings for heat. Getting a workout in in the early morning isn't always doable since I start work between 5 & 630 am.
I just am looking for a little guidance on how to approach this as the normal mindset of a 5K won't work as it's a 2.2 mile circut through our county zoo. Any ideas on what to do differently than a 5K training program would be appreciated. The date of the event is September 15, 2012
TIA
