Walk-ing Back to Disney! COMPLETED 10/16! A Fall 2014 PTR!

Yay!! I am at work so just hopped up here for a sec, but I'm glad you are back!!! I know i talked to you a bit yesterday but I am soooooooo excited for you guys with POP. I am even a little jealous

It's good to see you back!! I think POP will be fun! That would have been my choice too! I've heard so many good things about it and if you need a fix AOA will be right there!

So happy to hear that your husband's grandfather is doing well! Family hospitals stays are so hard and exhausting for everyone.

And of course, I LOVE all the new Disney wear! Your shoes are always amazing!

Glad your back I missed checking to see what your up too......btw I love those snow white shoes. Well we plan on leaving right after Audrey gets out of school tue. afternoon and it's 10 hrs to Disney which puts us in around 2-3 am. What to do so instead of sleeping in the van for a few hrs.(my hubbys idea) we decided to get a little real sleep and get a room. So we are going to check into AoA Family suite for that night/morning. We (us girls) figure we will be up early as we will sleep in the van on the way down.So we will go swim and check out the resort and pop while we are there. Then check out at 11 and head to CSR for the rest of our vaca.... excited to check out the value resorts.

Haha, so, obviously you know that I switched to POP to take advantage of the FD, and that we can now go 2 days earlier!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEE! So I thought I would share the new plans, as a couple things have changed around a bit!


Sun Sep 27: Arrival/ HS

Ill probably go ahead and book a few FP+'s late afternoon in case we make it there early, but I think realistically we are looking between 3-4PM arrival in the park. I would like to try to make the 4:30 Character Palooza on the Streets of America, if possible. But the MAIN point of today is MEETING LORI!! Possibly get to meet Jackie too, if her dining changes work out! *Fingers Crossed*

So there ya have it! What do yall think?? Everything looks pretty good to me finally! I just need to get that TRex ADR for dinner time instead of lunch. But like I said, it wouldnt end my world to try walk-up or go somewhere else if needed.

I am just so happy with everything, I now know this trip is going to blow the last one out of the water, even though I thought it was perfect. We are getting to experience SO MUCH!! Squeeeee!

Now, I can't leave this update completely devoid of photos! So enjoy these! I received some AWESOME mail today! Another package from Lori, our Hoop Dee Outfits!!!!

I also got two pairs of shoes finished, and I got started on Raina's (sweetpeaandevie) pair of Alice ones too... I will give you a sneak peek!

All of your ADRs look fantastic... And I love how you added what you are planning to wear each day. This is going to be SOOO adorable!

The outfits from Lori are just precious... I love the pic where they are holding up their dresses to see the bloomers... LOL When my girls were little, I always had them in bloomers - I just loved them! It still makes me sad that I didn't sew for them back then - just wait until I have grandbabies (but not for, AT LEAST, 10 years), because then it will be a true sewing sickness.

And the shoes are looking absolutely ahhhmazing!!! You have some mad talent there girly!!!

Just started reading this and your other reports! Can't wait to read more!
We are also planning our second trip (for Nov).
We have two daughters as well and our youngest (also a Maddy) was thirteen months on our last trip... but she will turn five on this trip.

So if you followed my last PTR then you probably already know what The Box is. If not, allow me to explain.

The Box is simply a box, placed in my room that is a catch all for things for our trip. So often, I will be out and buy random things for our trip, and I lost track of some of them the first time around, that’s when I started The Box. Now, whenever I find items for our trip I just toss them in The Box and I know where it will all be when it comes time for packing!

Let me introduce you to My Box!



These photos were from last trip, and here some of the items that had accumulated last time:



Dish soap (for our reusable mugs), pins, lanyards, portable fans, room décor, collapsible laundry hampers (so great) things like that…

This week I ended up purchasing the first thing I’ll be tossing in, these adorable little stickers that light up when you push them!





These are so cute! They seem rather durable too, they’re made out of some plastic. They had TONS of these at WalMart, I found them near the party section at mine, and I told the girls they could pick one! I plan to go back and buy many more; I think these would be fun to throw in the park bags to wear some nights of our trip. They were only $1!


Some other items I will be tossing back into the box that we used our last trip will be:

• The Collapsible Laundry Baskets… these things were wonderful on our trip, they took like no space in our suitcase and they really help confine all our dirty clothes to one spot! And on our last day I was able to just walk down and wash all our stuff so we came home without having to do laundry!
• Laundry detergent… Target sells some little travel packs I like of Tide Pods, they were perfect for our trip.
• Sharpies… gotta have ‘em!
• Pins… I have already ordered some!
• Bandaids/Mole Skin… self-explanatory with 10+ miles of walking a day!

Is there certain items you guys ALWAYS have to take with you to Disney?

I saw those badges in Walmart yesterday but I had no idea what they were. Duh. Stickers make sense... need to go back I guess.

Thanks!!! I am hoping all goes well there! The ONLY thing I am truly worried about is my feet. That can really ruin a trip, and I have never done a trip this long with so much walking before, so I hope that I can keep up. I just have to pace myself and there is a lot of time built in for breaks. Most our MK days are party days so we wont be out late in the parks and stuff. Also while Chris and I are switching off for rider swap I plan to sit and rest.

I wish we were overlapping too! My plans are really coming together now, what will I do with my time? Lol....

I have thought a LOT about FP+ recently. Do you regularly check easywdw.com? In the last week or so Josh did 2 MK posts with a touring plan in them, he tells you which FP+ to get and he timed everything out. I am planning on following both of those days on 2 of my rope drop MK days. They both hit a lot of attractions we liked, so it makes since for me. I am not as worried about the FP+ in the other parks. But I will be keeping a eye out for any more posts on there for the other parks.

I have decided I will most likely book all my FP+ in the late morning/early afternoon. I think there will be no lines to stand in the mornings, so I am not gonna do FP then, and then we can use our FP and hopefully rebook new ones when people are just getting to the park and having lunch, and really I plan to do most rides and stuff in the AM and save the heat of the day for the less sought after attractions and shows and stuff anyway.

For sure getting FP+ for Anna & Elsa, and then Talking Mickey, and of course Mine Train, which is on the schedule for one of the days we are following the easywdw schedule...

We are kinda lucky with doing rider swap we can really maximize our FP's bc we just need 1 for some and then switch off, instead of both getting one!

I cant wait to book FP+!!!

Oh my goodness! I have been WAITING to post that photo!! Lol..

So, obviously, today is THE day many have been waiting for, as the Free Dining opened up to the public. I was on the phone at 6am here in Texas and immediately got through, but I think the system was so bogged down that the call ended up failing... Then I got the dreaded busy signal. I tried back a few times to no avail. Finally I decided to try a tip I heard, I called the BBB line and got through immediately, politely asked if they could help with my resort stuff and they kindly said no, but they connected me to a person in reservations after only a few minute wait!! Wooo-hoooo!

So apparently that tip is true, so for future reference, if you call another department and get transferred in you are indeed put at a higher priority than people still waiting on the line to initially be picked up!

I posted that this morning on FB and Lori was stuck holding and she hung up and called dining and they patched her right through too! SCORE!

So anyway, I got my FD applied, no issues, they added my memory maker for me, and I have a $200+ credit coming back my way, which happens to be how much my MNSSHP tickets are! So as soon as that money goes back into my account I will call and get our tickets! Yay!!

I am just SO HAPPY!

Teehee...love me some Friends... anyhow. I also decided to try to call T-Rex Cafe back today, directly, and whatdoyaknow! That tip is absolutely TRUE too!! T-Rex, being a non-Disney restaurant and being located outside the park allots only so many spots to Disney's ADR system and they keep MORE for themselves!! I called and the nice woman I spoke with said you can book directly through them a ressie up to six months in advance. I told her my date and she said there were MANY spots available around the time I was looking so I got my preferred time too! DOUBLE SCORE!

I now hold all the ADR's I want, I have my FD, I get to go 2 days early and I am on cloud 9, baby!

Also, Lori called this morning, and we both hold ADR's at 50's about 10 minutes apart from one another, well she wanted to see if we could link them, but the CM told her if we just check in at the podium together when we get there we can request to be seated together or next to each other and they can do it!! So YEE-HAW!!

This day is just AWESOME! Now I am going to go troll around on everyone else's reports and bask in the happiness that is Free Dining for all my friends!!!
