Walk-ing Back to Disney! COMPLETED 10/16! A Fall 2014 PTR!

Wow!Wow! Wow! That is so exciting! Extra Disney time! I am pretty envious! I was able to talk the BF into leaving one day early...actually I started it as a half day early and he said why not the whole day?! (Its going towards Cabana Bay though which is still nice) Loved POR when we were there! I wish we had spent more time exploring it though. I really want to go back and do Alligator Bayou. I think its more our style then the mansions(which we still liked when we stayed there and thats where I had wanted to stay). And POFQ I have always wanted to stay! There's just something enchating about it! Except they more then likely won't have any discounts come fall or very small. Aslong as you have some resort time planned I think you should totally go for POR! Doooo it! Doooo it! You know you want to! Also congrats to your hubs on the promotion!

You're so right! We have almost a whole day for the resort before MNSSHP and an evening at the resort planned! So you're probably right, and I forgot about POFQ not having discounts! So thanks!!!

Yayyy for ADRs! That's so great that you got them all and a BONUS Saturday! That would be so amazing to add a few days to the magic!! I just love the HDDMR dresses! Your girls are going to be so adorable!!

Yay!! It's so fun how everyone is so excited for your ADR day on the Dis... I spent a lot of yesterday sooooooo excited and smiling huge and people were just going about their business as if it was no big deal if just scored a BOG ADR! Lol... I even told a couple people and they're just like "oh, cool.." *hand slaps my forehead* Really?!? *sigh*

Best News!!! I am SO happy for you!!! POR is beautiful!!! The pools are fantastic. Food? DELISH!!! we did love it there.. I really loved my smoking spot every morning:


Beautiful right?!?! We had Building 14. which is right next to the food court and Buses. Never had an issue with the buses!!!

Its amazing how much Less $$ POR is!!! I really hope FD comes out! you are going to have the BEST TRIP EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've stayed at POFQ a couple of times and I just love it. I think the bus we got at FQ only ever went to POR once or twice in all the times we rode it - and this was in September, so I don't think you will have much of an issue with busses. The food court at POR is fantastic - they have the "make your own pasta" bar!

first, congrats to DH for his promotion and election win! that is super exciting!

second, I'm so glad you got all your ADRs! I did have a slight heart attack when you said you couldn't get a HDDMR ressie. thank goodness that got straightened out!

third, we LOVED POR! if you can stay there, you should totally try it out. yee haw bob, who we never really got to watch, is very entertaining, it's beautiful, we never really had bus troubles, and the royal rooms are so fun when the girls are young enough to get so into it. you'd really like it! our short visit to POFQ was awesome. it's so pretty over there! I don't think they do many discounts, but I think you'd like it also. and if PORs less expensive, well, even better!

and fourth--I can't believe you might be there the same time we are!!!!!!!! really, how many ! do I need to use to convey my excitement? I hope it all works out and we can meet up that night! it would make our last night about a million times better!

LoL!! My hubs.... Awesome news on the buses, that was the ONLY thing really irking me. So glad to hear several people say it was not an issue. I feel so much better now, the hopes are getting higher and higher to stay there. I really hope FD or a good room discount comes out!!

My goodness, I told the hubs my plan of going a day early today and that I made that 50's ADR and he was so on board!!! He wants us to get to meet now that we've become closer and he REALLY loved 50's so that doesnt hurt, lol...

Regarding discount timing, I'm not sure if you've already come across this gem of a link on mousesavers, but it's the historical discount chart: http://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/ Can't recall if you have a Disney Visa, but sometimes the discount opens earlier to cardholders vs. the general public.

Hoping for free dining for you! Or even a room-only discount at POR may be pretty favorable. And yay for extra days! Looks like you already went ahead, but I was going to say to book ADRs, even if your dates aren't locked in. We once booked an entire trip of ADRs for a trip we considered purely hypothetical at the time (we did end up going, though - Jan. 2010).

Coincidentally, we stayed at POR on that trip. We enjoyed it. I don't know that it had a big WOW factor, but it was very nice. The Royal Rooms look really cool - they didn't have those yet when we were there. We were in Parterre Place, one of the mansion buildings. It looked really cool on the outside, but the rooms were pretty standard hotel rooms inside. The great thing about that building (which I THINK has Royal Rooms now) is that it is very close to POFQ. So, you can take that bus and not really walk much further than if you took the POR bus. Plus, you can wander over there to explore/snack. Right along the river. Pretty walk. (And I feel like I have just said "walk" a lot of times to someone who has that as a name and is cranking out awesome shoes )

We've stayed at POR as well as POFQ and they are both wonderful. POFQ is our favorite of all the places we've stayed. But for your little ones, I think the princess rooms at POR is the best choice. I love, love, love the boat ride to DTD!!

That is the Il side of St. Louis....... so yeah for your hubby And I know FD is going to come out so POR will be very popular ,maybe you should think about your reservations now.......I think it's easyer to change back to AoA than change to POR after FD is offered? Just a thought.

Hmm. The preferred were cheaper than the Royal Rooms, so now I am faced with a horrible choice, RR or Preferred?!?! So many pros and cons to them both. Ill have to bring it up with the hubs. I didnt mind the walk at AOA last time, but we were there several days less and my feet were sooooo beyond dead the last day. So any walking I can save myself, the better. *Sigh* But the RR are so darling, and obviously, my princesses belong in a Royal Room and all... but I really like the simple charm of the regular rooms too.... what to do!??!?!?!? HELP!!!

I had considered switching already, but I hate to switch and then switch back if it doesnt all work out. Honestly, its not that crowded of a time, and I am pretty sure I will catch the deal like THE DAY it comes out to the public, so I am not too worried. Worst case, I know I will be happy with AOA anyway, so I think I will just take the chance. They usually release the deals to the Disney Visa holders first, and that info gets leaked on the Dis immediately and then we know that the public deal will just be a day or so away!!! So keeping watch, as usual!!
