Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour

Has anyone done this tour? How was it? Any advice?

We did the tour back in May and loved it...there is another thread here that compares both this tour and the 50th tour.

We also did this in May and Loved it! We did the morning tour and had a nice lunch while we watched the show at the shoehorse review.

Nope, I don't even know what the wenches guild is. I chose the name because I read that this is the name of the ship in WDW's POTC. :>

The lunch is in the Golden Horseshoe? I would like that. :>

Is the tour similar to the Keys to the Kingdom tour in the MK?

Like the others, we really enjoyed this tour. We did it for my daughter's birthday and they even had a candle on the cake that they gave us for our dessert at the Golden Horseshoe. The only thing with the Golden Horseshoe, at least when we did the tour, is that they sat us at the top and a larger party in the tour could not sit at the same table.

We did this tour in DL on July 12th, It was good. We had lunch upstairs at the Disney Gallery on the patio. The new "50"th pin for the tour is beautiful.

We did both the Walk in Walt's and the 50th tour in June. They were both fabulous and very different. Our lunch was at dinnertime in the gallery because our tour was at 2:30. The food was great! On another day we did the 50th tour and we took the last one of the day so we ended up with special seating on the top of the train station for the fireworks. I would recommend either tour or both if you can afford it.

I did the exact same thing this past week. A Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour on Saturday at 2:30pm and late lunch/early dinner on the Disney Gallery balcony. Loved the pin! Nancy was a nice tour guide.
Did the From Imagination to Celebration (50th) tour on Tuesday at 5:40pm and had preferred seating for the fireworks. Rode Pirates of the Carribbean, Big Thunder Mountain, and Buzz Lightyear's AstroBlasters. Loved the goodies: pin. picture, souvenir ticket book, and even the snack box. Nicole was a great tour guide.

DW and I are doing the Footseps tour Wed morning of the week we are there. Reading this thread I am close to calling DL and adding the 50th one as well. Oh well, what's another 100 bucks?
Do they have a AAA discount like the Footsteps tour?

Currently I don't think they have the discount but IMHO it is worth the extra money ($100 for 2). See if you can get Nicole as your tour guide she was great. If you want to do all five rides (one from each decade) take the first tour fo the day. If you want preferred seating for the parade and three rides, take the second or third tour of the day. If you want reserved seating for the fireworks and three rides, take the fourth (last) tour of the day.

When we did the 50th Tour on May 31st all we got was the picture...no pin or souvenir ticket book....I guess I'll be calling Disneyland today......

Our pin and souvenier ticket book arrived by mail about 1 month after we took the tour. I had filled out a seperate card for all in our party, and they used those addresses for mailing out our goodies.

We too filled out the cards....and since we've been home for almost 2 months I called Disneyland to inquire about the pins and books. I unfortunately got the rudest CM I have ever spoken to. She informed me that the pins and books were mailed out the middle of June. I asked if she could check the computer just to make sure ours were in fact mailed out because it normally doesn't take 6 weeks for mail to arrive in Canada from LA. She said she couldn't and that I should just wait.

I guess I'll call back in another couple of weeks if we still haven't got them.

I took the 50th tour around June 9. We were told we would be receiving a pin by mail. I called a little over a month ago and was told they would be sent out in a week or two. I called July 21 because I still hadn't received anything. The CM I spoke to was VERY nice--her name was "Karen". She took my name and said she would look into it and call me back. She DID call back and told me that it would be resent and if I hadn't received it in 2 weeks to let her know.

I think you should call again and speak to someone else. Sorry you had a bad experience.
