We are considering booking with The Fairfield Inn by Marriott for our trip to Disneyland in October/November. Has anyone been recently? Hoping to get a good idea of the walk to the park. We have a 8 and 7 year old, and they have done well in the past. We have only stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and most mornings took the monorail into the park, which was a very quick walk.
Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance!:)

It's right next to the HoJo (and the fabulous MiMi's) so the walk is certainly manageable for a 7 and 8 year old, although it will seem twice as far coming back. Just head down the street with the hordes of people and cross right into the park! You can see the Matterhorn and Space Mountain across the street!

We stayed there summer 2010 when we couldn't get a room at the HoJo. Our only disappointment was the room size--very cramped for our family of five. They also ran out of space in their parking lot and our car had to be parked off-site. Our ongoing comment was "not as nice as the HoJo" which has bigger rooms and a lot of room in the parking lot. By the time you walk to the back to the lot to get to the Fairfield, you could be at the HoJo so don't let the map fool you.

Enjoy your stay!

We stayed at the Fairfield 2 months ago and were very pleased with everything. The walk is easily manageable, you can practically see the Harbor blvd entrance from the sidewalk, and there is always people walking so no worries about safety. The staff were also excellent, helped us with everything we asked for. We could see space mountain and the matterhorn from our room, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Have a great trip! :)

It's nice to have McDonalds right there as well. I remember staying at the HOJO and been given the duty of running to get some breakfast to bring back to the room. HOJO is definitely further down the road when your bringing back stuff for people. It felt like it was at least a football field away while it was just a hop skip and a jump for FFI.

We've only stayed there once but will be returning this summer because the cost of the onsite is just too steep this year. We were lucky in years past with deals like buy 3 get 2 free or some pretty good discounts but it looks like the resort hotels won't need the steeper discounts to get people this summer.

Here's a view from the FFI looking out to Harbor Blvd with Disneyland in the background.

And now looking back to the hotel

It's not a bad walk. It's about 0.44 miles from the center of the turnstiles to the lobby of the Fairfield. You'll have to cross 2 streets (one is Harbor, the other is the entrance to a hotel - most folks seem to ignore that light and cross anyway). I stayed there last weekend and it was fine. We usually left the park after closing and there were always other folks walking back at the same time.

As others have said, not a bad walk, really. We stayed there in 2010 for a cheerleader convention and our only "complaint" was we were on the side that faced the freeway. We liked having our door open before heading to DL and was a bit "noisy".

But at night with the door shut, freeway noise was not noticeable. Great place and would stay there again if not able to get into our WM timeshare.

Enjoy your trip....
