I have decided that I'd like to get some of the WATP tapes/DVD's and I have looked on ebay and don't know which ones to get. Can anyone help me out and tell me more about them and which ones are good?

Thanks
Chris

I have or have had several.

WATP Express are probably one of my favs, but I like the 4 mile & 3 mile best. 1 & 2 aren't a challenge even on days I need something quick. 1, 2 & 3 mile use the stretchie band - I like it, but every one I've had breaks after a short time.

I have the Christian version 1 & 2 mile - again 2 mile is better. I like the music.

Walk & Kick & Walk Strong are both 30 min - about 2 mi I think, and have a bit of interval training. Walk kick has some basic kick boxing segments - easy. Walk Strong uses the 'stretchie band' for some upper body stuff in intervals.

WATP ABS I like - it uses a belt with stretchie things attached. The 3 mile is a good workout for me for 45 min.

I just bought WalkAerobics Weight Loss walk - I thought it was too easy for a 4 mile walk for me. Not bad, just not as challenging as the Express 4 mile. Although this was released in 2002, it is probably early 80s. Kind of corny - ie. she's in her 'living room' w/ a fake 'window' behind her - suddenly the scene in the window changes and she talks about it storming, etc. They are wearing leotards & leg warmers.

Also just got the WalkAerobics Fat Burning - did it this morning and it was tough. Did the normal walk moves, some jogging and did 4 mi in 45 min. Then had 15 min of floor work that was a definite challenge. This was released on DVD in 04, but also probably late 80s - has some of the people from the Express DVDs on it and they're noticably younger - again all are wearing neon leotards. I really like this one, tho.

I bought the WalkBlaster system, but haven't opened it yet as it's a 'prize' for me.

I own so many of them I'm not sure I could narrow it down to one or two of the best ones.

If you are going for just a couple I would get one that has multiple miles like 3 or 4 because you can always go up to the distance you want. I just got the Walk-jog, walk-kick ones and am beginning to get into those. I love all of her things they are simple, help me wake up in the morning, and don't kill me.

Hi Chris - I just started doing WATP - my doctor suggsted 1 mile 3x/week to start - since I am a non-exercisor.
I'm thinking of using it alone with the "Walk to WDW" challenge.
I ohly hve 1 video so far but like and would get others once I build my stamina.

Good luck....

The one I like is the 4 Mile Walk Express (I think that's the title)...you can choose anything from 1 - 4 miles. It's a good 'un. Hope this helps!

I have found some pretty good descriptions of various exercise DVDs, including WATP, at www.collagevideo.com. Their paper catalogs have good descriptions (length of the various DVDs, etc.), as well. I really like the WATP DVDs. I have found most of them to be pretty similar -- it seems that the major difference is the length of time/number of "miles" you walk. I hope this helps.

a friend recently gave me her WATP Express Advanced Walk 3 miles

goldcupmom -- thanks for the great reviews! i have a box set that includes that cheesy 4 miler and quite frankly i have a hard time stomaching it. the moves are more 'aerobic' like too which kinda turns me off.

BUT - in that set I got a 1 and 2 miler that i like; they are faster paced then the Express workouts and I can overlook the leg warmers! ha! well not quite that bad but definately dated. that is one thing i don't like about her company is the re-release with a newer date for a workout obviously recorded many years ago.

i also had the PowerWalk 3 miler and loved it. she used weighted gloves, i just held ankel weights. i did have a couple complaints in that both times i have owned it i have ended up cracking it b/c the case is really tight and both copies have skipped in a couple places. well not skipped but stuttered if you know what i mean. i've done it for about 2 1/2 years so i'm not going to replace it right away but will now have some new ones to check out

main point -- check your library for copies to try for free before purchasing. I think even netflix has some available

good luck!

ohMom,
A cruise for Thanksgiving sounds wonderful. My husband and I haven't tried cruising yet, but I know we'll eventually give it a whirl. The shore excursions always sound wonderful. Maybe for our ten year anniversary.
Have fun with your videos, and have a great turkey day cruise!
