Some of the good ones:
1. Got2B Hair Care -- FREE after Rebate
2. Magic Sweeper Wet/Dry Clothes -- $2.99 (generic Swiffer; may be free if on sale)
3. $15 in Proctor & Gamble -- $10 Gift Card AND Beauty Sampler Pack
35. $10 in Frito/Pepsi Products -- $5.00 Rebate

This weeks (8/28 - 9/3) rebate deals; coupons listed are from Sunday paper:

- Glade Scented Oil Candles $6.99 - $2.00 Rebate = $4.99 - $3.00 coupon = $1.99
- Glade Glass Scents $2.99 - $1.00 Rebate = $1.99 - $.75 coupon = $1.24
- Got2B Haircare $4.99 - $4.99 Rebate = FREE
- Walgreens Comfort Stretch Diapers $4.00 - $4.00 Rebate = FREE

The grocery game is offering a free Walgreens list. They kind of match the coupons with the sales and rebates. It just started yesterday. Go to www.thegrocerygame.com and anybody can look at this list. Check it out!

I'm particularly interested to hear lbgraves take on the grocery game list as I consider her one of our resident experts.

OK, I went on my first ever shopping trip at Walgreens today. I used my gg list and bought only things my family could actually use. I bought 2 items totaling $8 that were not on the list that I just happened to need so that may skew the savings percent a bit but here are my numbers.

Retail price $90.61
Coupons $28.49(walgreens + manufacturer)
ES Rebates $8.80
Total spent $53.32
That's a total of $37.29 saved or 41%. Not bad for my first time and with 2 extra items not on sale or coupons. I don't know if I'll do this every week or not but I'm gonna try to go every week just for the really fabulous deals.

Anybody else shopping at Walgreens? How'd you do?

Thanks!

Click on the link on the first post. Then look for the 10.00 P&G rebate. Click on it and it will list like 100 pages of products

The Glade coupons came from this Sunday's paper.

Do most of yall get your refunds via check or gift card?

I went yesterday. I got:

3 Gillette M3 Power Razors $9.99 apiece
3 Gillette M3 Power Razors refills-free after sale
1 Package Walgreen brand diapers $4
1 Got 2B styling product $4.99
2 Cadbury candy bars  $3.00

Subtotal: $44.33

Used 3 coupons buy Gillette M3 razor, get the refills free. The refills were $10.99 apiece, so I actually got $3 in overage. Also used B1G1Free coupon from the weekly ad for the Cadbury bars which saved $1.41.

Total after coupons: $9.95 - $4.99 Got 2B rebate - $4.00 diaper rebate = 96 cents final cost. Good trip!

To the other poster who asked--I always request gift cards because they give you an additional 10% over your rebate total. Then I use those gift cards to get more rebate freebies the next month, and it keeps on cycling. Some people get the gift cards and hold onto them all year, then use them to buy gift cards at Xmas time for presents. Along that line, another idea is to use the Walgreen's rebate cards to buy gasoline gift cards. Since you get that extra 10% back, it's a way to save a little on gasoline (or if you drive to Disney, you could use save them and use them up on your trip).

I've been at my daughter's in Maryland this month, and there aren't any Walgreens around here. However, I'll be back in Ohio for all of September, so I'll be looking for the rebate specials. Back there, I also check out Rite-Aid rebates, because they also have a month-long rebate deal - where you can save up all your rebates during the month and request the total at the end. For Rite-Aid, I enter my receipts on line, and they mail me a check. I wish Walgreens would go to an on-line system, too. However, I mail in my receipts and the rebate forms at the end of the month. I always request that the rebate amount be added to my gift card, so I can get the extra 10%. I just keep having it added to the same gift card - which I usually wind up using the next month to buy more rebate items. Each time I make a purchase with the card, my balance shows up on the receipt. If I have any questions, there's a toll-free number on the back of the card that I can call to get my card balance.

Walgreens has the gillette razors, buy a razor, get the blades free, right? Plus So that's 9.99 for both, then you used the coupon for the free cartridges, and that gave you 10.99 off, right? I have one coupon from the newspaper, too bad I used the other one a while back. I have the coupon for the womens one, but not the mens. Dang. Oh well, they still come out less than free for the one, so I'll ahve to get that. Thanks for the tip.

That's right! Don't forget the free after rebate items, too. Even if you don't have a kid in diapers, they made a great add-on to a shower gift or donation to charity.

alright, I'm confused on this one, help me out.

Walgreens has buy the razor get the cartridges free
My Manufacturers coupon has buy the razor get the cartridges free

They let you use both and you get the value of the cartridges free two times? :confused3 :confused3 They let you do that? I'd think if you were already getting the cartridges free due to the ad, they wouldn't let you use the mf coupon and get the value twice. But you're saying that's what you did, right?

Thanks for the help!

For some reason, you can always use manufacturers coupons in addition to their store coupons/sales/rebates. So what they do is just take off the value of the razor blades. I'm sure it will work with no problem, I've done similar things before. They don't care about the MF coupons, because they get reimbursed by the MF. So whether they take it or not, it doesn't matter to them $$ wise. WG is great about coupons.

Here's the thing--it's perfectly legitimate to combine a store sale with a coupon. Walgreens is having a store sale that just happens to give the refills for free. However, that doesn't change the fact that I purchased both the razors and the refills so I filled the requirements of the coupon. The store will still get reimbursed. It does sound confusing, but it's truly a legitimate deal. I'm on several couponing boards and lots of people have been doing it with no problem. Does that clear it up a little?

I have a question about the razor deal. Do you buy the razor and get two packages of blades for free if your using two coupons?

Do you mean that you have 2 manufacturer coupons? If so, you can get 2 razors and 2 packs of cartridges for free. Actually, you'll have $2.00 back, so make sure you buy something else or they will probably give you a hard time.
