This may be addressed in a thread, but I don't have time right this minute to search. :guilty:

Can I cash in my MyPoints points for Walgreens gift cards, and then use those to purchase Disney gift cards at the store?

Yes you can- I did exactly this last month.

I was so hoping to do this with some Choice hotel points but Walgreens isn't one of their options for gift cards anymore. Anyone know of another store that sells Disney gift cards? I tried CVS, Walmart, Target, Kmart, Best Buy, Staples, Office Max and Borders without luck

I think if I can't find a store that has Disney gc that I can get from Choice Hotels, I may get a Walmart and try to buy an American Express gc, but I think there's a fee involved with those:headache:

My Walgreens cashier initially looked at me like I was crazy and said that it was not allowed. I went to 2 other Walgreens before finding one that would even consider it. The Manager was confused at first and thought the computer wouldn't allow it but then he said "Sure...let's try it." It worked like a charm. :thumbsup2 I've since returned to that same store 3 times for the "exchange" and there has never been an issue. :wizard:

I personally have seen Disney Gift cards at Kroger, CVS, Walgreens, Meijer, Giant Eagle, SAms club.

Of those listed, I can get CVS cards from my CHoice Hotel points. The CVS by me does not have Disney cards, but maybe another one would  Thanks...I'll check out a few other CVS stores for Disney cards

I have never seen them at CVS. I have seen them at Wegman's.

The American Express gift cards have a fee to purchase. It's about $5.

I've been watching for Disney GC at our oneandonly Walgreens and they haven't had them. I should ask why, I guess.... :confused3

I found a set of 4 x $15.00 Disney Gift Cards at our Smith's grocery store. I have some rebates coming my way in the form of Visa Gift Cards and I want to purchase the DGC with them.

What about using the Jingle Cash for Disney gift cards? Will they accept those?

So excited I was able to do this last night! Just to be on the safe side I bought a few things and got a $40 Disney Gift Card to go with it, my total was $52 and I used my $50 Walgreens gift card, so only spent $2 !

I've tried this and been told the GC had to be rung separately. :headache:

You'll want to check your Walgreens. Mine has a big sign up that says you cannot use a gift card to buy another gift card.

I looked on the cvs website it says you can't use a gift card to purchase another retailers gift card. Linda :)

I've done this twice so far. I don't ask, I but i buy one or two items plus the card, they ring me up, ask how much I want on the Disney card, then I say i have a Walgreens gift card I want to use first, then I pay the balance with my Disney Visa. Never been questioned. Works fine.
If you are using MyPoints, the Walgreens gift card is less points than some of the other gift cards, so even if you could do this at another store (like WalMart), it's a better deal through Walgreens.
