Walgreens deals....what are YOU buying this week?

Just read about this, will only work thru Sat. Apr. 26:

Buy 6 bottle of the Softsoap decor bottles (kinda looks like apples). Use the Easy Saver coupon for April and the Easy Saver coupon for May, they overlap by 2 days (print from here, on page 3: http://walgreens.hs.llnwd.net/e1/rebate/RebatePeriod106.pdf)

Coupons will take off $12 each, making total -6 cents plus tax. Items are eligible for April's $10 rebate too.

Week of May 4:

Buy 9 Charmin wipes, use Walgreens coupon (says limit is 3, but will deduct 50 cents for each), use any 25 cent Charmin coupons, get TWO $10 RR ($20 total)

$22.41
-4.50 Walgreen's coupon
-2.25 (9 Charmin coupons if you have them)
$15.66

Profit of up to $4.34 (less tax)

Can combine items to get 9 items total: 4 Febreeze on sale at $3.99, use 2 BOGO coupons from PG insert and 5 Charmin wipes, etc.

Buying 6 Covergirl is triggering the $20 RR (2-$10 RR, actuall) I did it yesterday--2 mascaras($2.50 coupon off 2 covergirl), one eye makeup remover, 1 powder puffs ($2.50/2 coupon) 1 blush (free after coupon) nd 1 lipgloss ($1 off coupon) plus the Venus razor ($4 off coupon) for ~$17. Got back 2 $10 RR for the P&G deal plus a $6 RR for the Venus(making that free).

Went back today and got two more razors with the $10 RR's (separate ring-up)Venus ($4 coupon), 4 Edge gels (came to $.99 after in-ad coupon plus Easy Saver coupon) and a filler (~$1 and got another $6 RR) and the other was Venus ($4 coupon) and some rainchecks from last week (bounty basic $.79-coupon) and softsoap($.99 with ES coupon) plus a 20 ct. Walgreens ibuprofern ($2.99 but will get a $2 rebate) ~$1.80 THEN I had her ring up in a separate order 8 Old Spice bod wash + shampoos (3-$2/2 coupons and 2-$.75/1 coupons) plus a Tampax $5-coupon. Spent about $23 but got back $20 in RR!

I think I did pretty good. One of those orders also had 2 packs of Orbit gum on sale, can't remember which one.

Toothpaste moneymaker!

I got the 9 tubes of crest prohealth.

Crest 2/$5
Easysaver catelog save $3/2
manufacturer's coupons -1 from April and MAy P&Gsaver.

So, for 9 crest ---> 22.50
Easysaver minus 13.50
Manu fac. coupons minus 9
OOP = nothing or the tax
Earn $20 RR :cool1:

I did this on Sunday and paid 5 and change since I only had 5 of the mfc's and we have to pay tax on the original amount.

I went back and bought the oatmeal on sale for 2/$5 with my one 10 RR, but got all messed up b/c it rang up for 1.99. Who would ever think having something cheaper would be upsetting? :confused3

So, mdrob214, does thing mean the 10 RR can be used for a venus and the venus still gives a $6 RR? I was not sure it would work since the are both P&G?

Buying 6 Covergirl is triggering the $20 RR (2-$10 RR, actuall) I did it yesterday

I did 6 CoverGirl and got the 2 $10 RR earlier today and then went to another store and did it again (same items) and only got 1 $10 RR. I still came out ahead, but I'm wondering if they didn't fix it within the last few hours. The catalina is different at the second store I went to so maybe that's why.

EDIT: I just read why I didn't get the 2nd $10 RR. If you buy 4 of the same color/UPC, it will lump your 50% savings together, so the trick is to make sure not to get more than 2 of the same item out of the 6 CoverGirl items. On my previous transaction, I got different shades of brown.

For the 3rd time in about 10 trips, I've had store cashiers try to keep my RRs! I'm a wreck by the time I leave Walgreens :rotfl:

I went to Walgreens today to do the Covergirl deal and I literally had the cashier running through the store screaming.

Covergirl queen nail polish 2.99
Covergirl queen nail polish 1.49
Covergirl queen nail polish 2.99
Covergirl brown eyeliner pencil twin 2.99
Covergirl sharpener 3.29
Covergirl queen eyeshadow 1.64
-$1 off any queen item
-$1 off any queen item
-$1 off any queen item
-$2.50 off 2 covergirl items
-$1 off any covergirl item
-2.99 free
-1.49 free
-2.99 free
Subtotal 1.42
8% sales tax .63
Total 2.05

I got back the $20 in RR too!

Don't ask me why thinks rang up like that!! I knew I was in trouble when I walked up to the beauty register and she looked at my items and said she couldn't do the deal. I said, "What?" She said the covergirl was ringing up wrong. I said, "That's not my fault. I didn't program the registers." She said the second items were ringing up BOGOF instead of BOGO 50% off. She said she could price adjust the second item for 50% off. I said OK because that is all that I was expecting. Although I wasn't sure at this point if this would mean I wouldn't get the $20 in RR because of this. Then I handed her my coupons and she said she couldn't take them all. I asked why not?? I have one coupon per item. So she made me line them up and match them with the coupons. She tried to say that the $2.50 off any 2 had to be used on a Queen product since that is what is pictured? huh? It says any and my Queen items said "Queen item" specifically on them. So she gives in without much of a fight. But she does price modify every other item to 50% off. Its funny because she didn't necessarily do the 3 cheapest items. But the best was that it took off the 3 items free at the end anyway. She couldn't get around that!! She was so mad!! She kept saying how Walgreens was going to lose soo much money. And then when the 2 $10 RR popped out of the catalina machine I thought she was going to faint!! I moved along but remembered that my DD wanted me to pick up printer paper so she could print out a report. So I headed over to the school supply area and as I am standing there, the beauty cashier comes running down the aisle screaming for the manager saying "But she only paid $2.05! But she only paid $2.05!!" :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Now that's funny!

I don't understand why they take it so personally when you use coupons ?!?! We have a couple of cashiers here at the grocery store and one at CVS and when I use coupons they act like the money comes out of their pockets

Good for you!, I don't think my heart could take it. If I didn't have to worry about them trying to steal my RR coupons it would be easier, but that's gotten out of control - if they don't try sneak them, they tell me I wasn't supposed to receive them.

I am wanting to go back and buy more, but then I'm going to have to spend all those RRs and that's usually another nightmare. I have $56 in RRs from today, I think I better call it good and quit. All the toothpaste is gone here, that's one crazy deal - not that any of us need toothpaste!

They try to keep your RR ?!?! Do they not know what they are or are they doing it on purpose? See that's where my temper would come in handy ;) I wouldn't leave the store without getting what I was owed. I had a lady at CVS throw my ECB's in the trash once, and then when I asked her where they were she said I couldn't use them that day anyway :confused3 I wouldn't leave the check-out until she dug them out of the trash and gave them to me :sad2:

They are doing it on purpose because they can be used by anyone so it's the same as cash to them, unlike CVS extra bucks that have to be used with the card they were earned on. It's never the young cashiers, it's women my age (40's), which makes me even angrier. I'm usually really good at dealing with stuff like this, but not at Walgreens, and that's probably because I'm working the craziest deals there, I usually have to explain why I earned them.

This is what's happened to me: Ripping them off and setting them to the side of the machine, then only handing them over when I ask and/or saying something like "most people don't want their coupons" or "I think those were from the customer before you" or telling me it's a mistake and the register has been acting up and I wasn't supposed to receive them. One clerk flat out denied that one printed when I watched it print and watched her put it somewhere else. I think it's a big temptation and Walgreens should go to a loyalty card or a system that prints on the receipt.

I wonder what was up with that woman throwing away your ECBs? I'm glad you made her give it to you. I've heard some horror stories about clerks keeping ECBs. I'm sure glad it hasn't happened to me because that's my happy shopping store :rotfl2:

OK, I've never played at Walgreens since they started this RRs thing. I used to do the rebates and stuff way back but have no experience with the RRs. As it happened, I actually needed some flushable wipes and tampons so here's what I did today:

4 charmin fresh mates ($1.99 each using walgreens flier coupon)
1 tampax pearl ($6.99)
- .50 (2 x $.25 charmin coupons)
-.50 (tampax coupon)
With tax, I paid exactly $15 and got a $10 RR.

Now, my problem is I don't know what to use the RR for. I'm not sure I want to start rolling it the way I try to do with ECBS at CVS. I think I want to just burn it on some need items but I want to get the good deals. So, any ideas for using up this $10 at walgreens? If nobody has any ideas, I might just do the pepsi (3/$10) and call it a day.

Help please!

I tried to get the toothpaste. Not that I need any but still, free + 20RR is tempting. One of our stores is supposed to get a truck today. I may go back later.

And yes, I rolled the Venus RR into the big P&G RR and the PG RR to Venus. It worked even though both are PG products. The clerk at my store's beauty counter is really nice and rang me up in 3 separate orders.

I think I heard they may be going to a card system. The problem then would be that would limit the number of deals you can do, I think. We have no CVS here so I can't compare.

I read on SlickDeals.net Drugstore Forums that some people have luck using their RR at Albertson's and other grocery stores. Technically they are a Manuf. coupon so it's basically a YMMV situation. Other people have been lucky to get gift cards, like Shell gas or other non-Wlagreens cards but again, YMMV.

I would get the PedEgg. I've been thinking about getting this and alot of people on here say its awesome for keeping your feet soft and smooth. It's $9.99.

Oh that would make me so mad  I agree they need some policy to keep the clerks honest I guess, it's a shame that people can't just be honest without that!

I decided to try out some of the deals at Walgreens today and was kinda nervous about how it would go but the lady at the make-up counter area was really nice and was happy I saved money. When I go back I will let her ring me up again. I agree though that I like CVS better, I used a couple of manufacturers coupons and then it wouldn't take the RR to pay for the order :confused3 :sad2: So that was annoying! She said you can't use the RR if you used man. coupons. So CVS has them beat hands down on that!

I think she didn't know what they were and threw them away and then when I questioned her about it she started making up excuses so she didn't have to get them out of the trash or look like she didn't know her job. I hate when I know people's jobs better than they do.

If you used Manuf. coupons you can still use the RR, but it is like a muanf. coupins so you'll need to have one item in your order that does NOT have a MFC attached to it. You can get one of the free after rebates or something small like a candy bar or pencil and that'll take care of it.

Oh she must not have known that. Thank you :goodvibes See what I mean about us knowing more than them sometimes ;) That's what happened cause I had three items all with coupons. Thank you for explaining now I feel a little better about it, just have to remember to throw something in that I don't have a coupon for. :thumbsup2

I went back for more punishment today ..but I got nothing but nice and helpful employees who happily handed over my RRs.

The first store I got 4 more CoverGirl items because I found some $1 coupons (all different UPCs, not giving up another free $10) and 3 Charmin wipes and came out 10+ on RR. The next store I found toothpaste! They even had 7 left after I took 9 and came out $15+ ahead on RR. Now I have $90 in RRs :cool1:

Never mind on helping me burn my $10 RR....because....guess what??!!?? They took my $10RR at CVS today! She said since it's a manufacturers coupon it should scan, let's try it...and she tried it and it did scan! Just like a regular coupon! So WooHoo! I got a good deal at Walgreens and then used the $10 to get more CVS stuff! I was very pleased!

Really? I wonder if my CVS would let me do that too.

WOW! Well, that makes me want to run to CVS now!

I'm glad you had a better experience this time :thumbsup2

Thanks, I don't know if it was a good thing because I stopped at another store and got $20 more buying toothpaste without mfg. coupons. I need to hide my car keys. The only good thing is that I've used up my Walgreen's gift card and I am too cheap to actually pay real $$. I found Zantac coupons for $5 online so I tried that too, they adjusted the coupon to $3.99 (free) and I got $3 RRs so now I have $113. I'm off to go walk around the neighborhood and give toothpaste to everyone.
