I can get a AAA room rate of 170.00 before the resort fee for next February. That is a great rate, right?

yes. especially early February. Once I booked the Hilton Bonnet Creek for a really low rate and upgraded through my Hilton Honors account for a small fee.

Another way to get a good rate at the Waldorf. I have stayed at both the Hilton and the Waldorf, both are good. Can't beat the location.

We usually stay on Boardwalk and like being able to go to different restaurants. Did you feel "trapped" while at HIlton or Waldorf? We won't have a car. Also, is the food super expensive there? Thanks!

No actually we stay in the villas at the Boardwalk too, and have often paired 4-6 days at the Boardwalk with a few days at one of the Bonnet Creek places, either the condos at Wyndham Bonnet Creek or the Waldorf or the Hilton. Like all 3 of those, but we always have a car. We have taken the bus that services the Waldorf and the Hilton, very nice busses but they make multiple stops and we find it easier to drive when we are not onsite at Disney.

We haven't eaten many meals there, the steak house is expensive but in line with Disney prices. Last time I was at Waldorf they served my favorite tea, Tea forte in the am in the lobby. The pool at the Waldorf is serene, and you have access to the lazy river at the Hilton. You can walk through the convention center or there is a nice walk along the water way between the 2 hotels.

Uber is an option too for transportation.

Join Hilton Honors, they may offer you an upgrade to a suite for a nominal price. Worth checking out. I have only stayed at the suites at the Waldorf. Very very nice.

Also in early February this year I got a good deal at the Dolphin using SPG points and little cash. Early February before Mardi Gras and President's day must be a slow period.

I am an Honors member so that is good to know. Maybe I will just give them a call.

Shortly after I booked the Hilton Bonnet creek, using my Hilton honors number, I received an email with an offer of several different upgrades, including an option to switch to the Waldorf, if available. I think it was based on availability on day of arrival. If you really want the Waldorf, this probably would not be a good option. I was happy with either the Hilton or the Waldorf so it was a good choice.

Is the $170 AAA rate non-refundable?

Nope! Very surprising.

Good to know! Thanks for posting this! I am going to check it out!

Terrific deal!

I just booked a room. I will certainly shop around and compare prices, but 170.00 at Waldorf was too good to pass up. I do wish the rooms had fridges because we like to have breakfast in the room!

Also, I almost paid extra for a room with a balcony but that was 233.00 a night. The rooms look luxurious enough just with the standard 2 queens.

Does waldorf have any quick service type food.options? Coffe kiosk?

I just called the hotel directly and they have fridges in every room. Score!

Yea for the fridges! I can't remember whether the Waldorf has a coffee kiosk but I think the Hilton does, and it is not that far a walk.

I think the Waldorf serves coffee to go in the lounge in the morning. But there are amazing nespresso coffee makers in the rooms! I was addicted and kept asking housekeeping for more pods!

How is it with the water in the room? I can get bottled water delivered of course. Thanks for the tip!

Yes, the standard rooms are luxurious too but room with the balcony is likely the suite, and it is double the square footage. If you add your Hilton honors number to the reservation, watch for the email offering the upgrade. The offer might be less that the difference between $233 and $170. Might be worth considering.
