Has anyone purchased the lanyards from Wal-Mart that have a zip-lock style pouch attached? It has the zip-lock pouch and a sliding "insert" on the front as well. The lanyard though attaches around the neck by velcro (why is beyond me when you can easily slip it over your head!). I bought these things last week and they are less than $1, but was curious to know if anyone had experience with them. They seem like a great value!

I don't have that one but I can tell you why the velcro. The velcro is so that you don't hang yourself if you get caught on something. The velco will release and set you free.

I used one last year. It was very handy. I kept our key to to world in the zip part and whenever we got fast passes I put them in the slide in part in the back. I even had many CMs call me by name because my card was showing.
I'll be using it again in May. BTW, it only costs .97!

In what department of Wal-Mart would I find these? Thanks.

In my Wal-Mart, it was in the wallet/billfold section within the jewelry department.

Great! DH and I questioned if our keys or his AP would fit, but decided to go ahead and buy them since they were so cheap anyway.

We've used these for the past 3 trips and they work great! We keep our park tickets in the ziplocked section and they are easy and handy to get out for Fastpasses. We usually slip the FP in the outside pouch. It's deep enough that they go down in there and won't come out. If we are going for EMH, we put our room keys in the ziplocked pocket also so they're handy for showing our resort ID to the CMs.

I just purchased these also...Thought the price was excellent...The only ones that I could find had a black neck strap to them though..Would have liked to have found colored ones...

What color did you guys buy..

These were only in black in my store. I used them for our last cruise and they worked great. I also bought about 15 of them and gave them out to my friends and family when we went on our cruise (there were 19 of us). They worked great, and I went swimming with them on. They did not keep water out though. LOL , but because they were cheap and plastic, I did not care.

I could only find black also but I used one for our trip last year and it worked out great. I put the tickets in the zip part and the fast passes in the pocket part. Since it is clear, I could constantly check times on fastpasses.

Yes, never buy your kids a lanyard without this feature! There are lots of areas to climb around at Disney, and you don't want to get caught.

So they're not waterproof enough to take underwater, but do you think they'd do okay on say Splash Mtn. or Kali? I'm trying to find something waterproof enough for the rides without having to spend a fortune! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

Sometimes they are in the jewelry section--they were at my Walmart. My DS and I used them for our trip and they were great! I felt secure with the ziplock. I did NOT feel secure with the velcro closure. What if a thief just grabbed your lanyard and gave a tug? SO I tied ours in a knot at the back. Maybe not the safest, but we didn't have any problems.

I would think so. I went snorkeling, and was totally immersed in water.

I used these last trip and have them all ready for this summer. They worked great and are still in fine shape. As for keeping things dry on rides - they made it through splash and kali and an awful hard rain - kept everything dry inside the ziploc, slightly damp on the edge of the "outside pocket".

Someone mentioned not finding them in their WM - try by the jewelry dept. where photo inserts are sold for wallets.
OR by the luggage.

Yes, they will be fine for Splash Mtn & Kali, just not underwater while swimming. :thumbsup2

They only come in black. But they do come in either horizontal or vertical orientation.

They are waterproof enough for the wettest rides and the heaviest rains, just not enough for swimming.

Every WalMart in Baltimore, and both of the WalMarts in the WDW area, carries these lanyards, in the jewelry section, on the same rack with wallet inserts and accessories.
