Wal-Mart Black Friday Online

There are a few things that I want from Wal-Mart's Black Friday specials, but nothing to warrant going out at 5 and fighting the crowds. All of what I want is available online, so I thought I'd do that instead. My question is, what time zone is the Wal-Mart online site under? If the deals start at 5AM, but the site is under central time, I want to be sure to be up at 6 instead of 5 since I'm eastern time. Or will it be possible that the online deals will start at midnight? Thanks for any help!

I'm going to try the online route too. I saw on a local news report that the online deals start using eastern time.

Shipping items to your local Walmart is free. This is a new service they are offering. You order online, they ship to Walmart. When it comes in you get an email. You take the email and your ID and go pick it up.

Isn't this just in certain areas? I was interested in it, but it just listed a few areas, mine not being one of them.

Most, if not all, of them are. Just look in the flyer or online to see which are available online.

I picked up on of my BF items online Thursday (Thanksgiving) night -- a Fisher Price ESPN Fast Action Football game for only $119 (usually $169). I made my purchase at 9:03 p.m. ET.

My DW and mother are still hitting Wal-Mart in the morning to pick up a PSP for $30 cheaper than normal.

Also, none of the twenty Wal-Mart stores in the Kansas City area (the 20 closest to me anyway) are part of Wal-Mart's Ship-to-Store program.

I was able to order 1 item at 5 am, but was not able to go back and order something else at 5:30. The site says it is down for maintenance.

I can't even log into the site. I keep getting the "down for maintenance" message, too.

I thought Amazon would offer something great this morning for BF...nope! Also, toyrus.com isn't offering anything special today (just the 3 day sale). As usual, it's the toys that aren't popular that have the low prices.

I'm so disappointed, but there was no way I was going to brave the crowds. One of my friends was at a store this am and it was BAD, people being terrible, swearing,pushing....I'd just rather not be around any of that, no matter what the deal. Just can't believe their site is down!!!

After __3 hours__ of repeated trying (redundant, I know - but it fits here...) I got it!!!!!! I even had it "crash" at checkout 3x - now THTS maddening - but finally, finally got my Game boy micros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I would say "off to bed" - but 8:30 is when my boys will get up - oh...............

I logged on exactly at 5:00 am (eastern) and was able to get what I wanted including the dvd player. It worked fine for me. I stood in line yesterday for 2 hours for the Meijer sale. This was much easier!! Sorry you had problems! ~Barb~

Went to WalMart at 5 am - just to see, the only thing I was remotely interested in was idog - BUT not worth my life for it...

WalMart had a line that snaked blocks past 8 stores... most of those in lines had CARTS!! Then 4:54 am, I get out of my car, and stand to 'watch' (amazed the line was that long) and I realized, there are NO POLICEMAN, no security - and 5AM a HUGE HUGE SURGE to the opening of the 4 doors (only one door had a line )

OMG - I ran the other way!! TRULY a scary scene for me - yes the people in the back of the line, that followed the rules of an orderly society were screwed!

NEVER AGAIN, online from now on!!

I finally got through on the walmart.com site. I got my order all ready (only 3 things), and I've been trying over 45 minutes just to check out. This is ridiculous! I'm glad I have nothing better to do today...lol. I'm playing lots of solitaire waiting for each page to load up.

On a side note, I got a huge order placed with Amazon. I had everything in my cart from a few days ago hoping some of the toys would be dropped in price. Nope. No great toy sales today. But I was able to check out in seconds. I also ordered from Aeropostle's site (great 50% off sales today), and I was able to check out in seconds. STUPID WALMART!!!!

If I can get this walmart stuff ordered, I'll be almost completely done with my xmas shopping.
