We are going in Oct with our then 11 month old twins. We are renting a car, and I want to be able to go to a Wal - Mart or Target to buy wipes, diapers, swimming diapers, formula etc.

Is there a convenient one on the way from the Orlando Airport to WDW? Or, any other suggestions?

Also, for parents of twins, we are bringing our stroller. But I was wondering, should I buy one single umbrella stroller or two in case a baby is napping in the room and someone wants to wander around OKW or DTD? What has worked best?

Thanks!

Dana

I have twins as well and I'm assuming when you say you are bringing your stroller you mean some sort of double stroller that's probably a bit bulkier than you would want to have to push around for just one baby. So, with that being the case, I would say that you should go for 2 umbrellas. You may find that the babies will be fine in them and not the big bulky one.

We are probably going to take 2 umbrellas and get the stroller connectors so that they can be hooked together in case only one person needs to push.

If you end up not using the umbrella(s) you can always return them, but they are so much easier to push than a bigger double. There may be times when you will be running out for a quick bite, you know the babies won't be falling asleep, and the umbrellas would be easier.

Good luck.

This site has directions to the area stores including Super Walmart and Super Target

The stroller FAQ here: http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/strol_faq.htm might also be helpful to you.

I would say you definitely want a stroller for your twins that has a decent canopy and reclines for when you're in the parks. I can understand not wanting to use the big double stroller though, if one of you wants to take a walk or something with one dc while the other dc is napping in the room. I think buying a simple inexpensive umbrella stroller for that would be ideal, or you might want to use some sort of sling or hip carrier if your kids like to be carried.

Have you considered shopping for those needs ahead of time and shipping them to yourself at your resort? It can save time and bother, and you won't need to bring your kids in and out of the car at Wal-Mart.

We shipped diapers, wipes, juice boxes, snacks, etc. when our entire family, including 5 little ones, went to WDW last time. These were all things we weren't bringing home, anyway. Just send them to arrive a day before you'll get there, and the hotel will hold them in their baggage storage area.

Tiffany Towncar does a complimentary 30 min grocery stop from Orlando Airport. The publix they stop at has everything...although if you WANT wal-mart I'm sure you could work something out with them. It's a great car service. I highly reccommend it!!

We do not need the car service as we always rent a car.

I think shipping diapers, formula, baby food, wipes, swimming diapers, water snacks etc is a bit too much when doing it for two 11 month olds.

Thanks for all the great links!

The Super Wal-mart is great. That is our first stop when we get to Orlando.
I had a double stroller that reclined separately which was nice for when the kids were smaller as well as two separate strollers. The last trip I brought 2 umbrellas with the connecters which worked great.

Hi! I love the Publix in the south. I great grocery chain with very responable prices even in tourist areas.

I recommend 2 seperate strollers. We are going in July...my twin DS will be 14 months. We are doing single umbrella strollers. Two main reasons...easy movement in crowds, monorail etc.. And single strollers are less obvious. Maybe people will be too busy to notice in the world but I'd like a break from...
Oh, are they twins?
How much did they weigh?
Are they natural?
Are they identical?
My daughter's brother's friend's niece has twins..
Wow, you've got your hands full

and of course, the very sweet I'd shot myself if I had twins. Mostly, these comments bother my DH more than me but it would be nice to be low key again!:)

YUP! we do this! My kids aer 11months apart, I did not want the giant double stroller and the umbrellas worked best!

We shipped diapers/formula/wipes/water you name it to the resort ahead of time for BOTH kids and it was not too much. It made waaaay more sense than stopping to shop on our way to the resort. The kids just wanted out of the car and we just wanted to get to DISNEY! and once at the resort we didn't want to leave again!!! hahaha!I shipped UPS so that i could track the boxes and make sure they were signed for and they got their fast :)
