waking up Tinkerbelle. Anyone done this? My daughter wants todothis. Tips please. What time is this done? Any other helpful info.princess:

Go to the shop in Fantasyland that sells all the Tinkerbell stuff. It's right by the castle after you go through it. You can go in if you get there early enough and ask to wake Tinkerbell. I believe they give the child a wand to wave and a light shines around the store (Tinkerbell). I've never done this but my daughters were interested in doing it on our next trip. You have to get there as soon as the park opens though.

:Pinkbounc My DD's 2 and 7 were able to wake up Tinkerbell while we were there in April. It was one of the best memories I will always have of our Disney vacations. When the park opened we went straight to Tinkerbell's Treasures right outside of the Castle and asked if they could wake her up. The CM was very sweet about it. She gave both girls a wand and told them to go behind a counter where there was a little treasure box. She told them to tap it and say "wake up Tinkerbell" meanwhile she walked over and hit the switch that makes the little light that is supposed to be Tink flash through the store. She gave the girls Magical Moments certificates and some Tink stickers. THey were thrilled and so was I!

We will be attempting to do this as well. My youngest daughter has her heart on waking up Tinkerbell. I just hope we are successful!

My daughter got to wake up Tinkerbelle on her thrid birthday last year (12/8). We had breakfast at CRT at 8:05 and when the rope dropped at Fantasyland we walked over to the shop while the masses headed for Dumbo! It was great! The child uses a wand to wake Tinkerbelle and gets a Magic Moment Certificate.

Have fun!

was alot of people going there to wake her up or no? Should I run?

Do you have to be the first one there or will they do this throughout the day?

It only happens once a day.
My DD and my niece were able to do it when we were there in May. They absolutely loved it! We just walked straight there after the opening ceremony. Most people are not rushing to go shopping when they first get to the park. They even told Peter Pan all about it when we went on our Fireworks cruise .
It only happens once a day.

They only do this once a day, so you do have to be the first one to ask to do it, and the honor is all yours! princess:

This sounds so fun and I can only imagine the looks on little ones face when Tink wakes up! :sunny:
I really don't think my 10 and 11 year old boys would like to do this though, darn it! siiiiiigh  :( :p

Should you run?

We went to MK twice during our trip - first day and last day. First day, we tried to wake up Tink. Walked straight there. Someone beat us. The mom said they ran all the way. It was fun to see how excited her daughter was.

The last day, my wife DD, DSIL and DS5 ran all the way. They got there so fast the CM thought they had jumped the gun on the park opening. Unfortunately, the CM wasn't overly friendly, even went to check that the ropes were down.

The CM's attitude disappointed my wife, but my DS5 was oblivious, so it turned out great.

So, should you run? Although it sounds silly, if we had it to do over, we probably would at least walk fast. Since you only have one chance a day, and most people only visit MK once a year (or less), you hate to miss the opportunity.

Ultimately, it boils down to the importance of it to you.

TiggerPiglet - You're very welcome, I hope you get there first. It sounds like such a fun thing to do! I can't wait to go back now so I have a chance at it myself princess:

Would you please stop talking about this?!?! I want to be the first one there with DD 4 but with everyone blabbing about it, it might be hard to do. ;)

We have PS for CRT at 9:00. I'm hoping we can get inside a little early and be at the store right at opening. Wish me luck.

c-ya REAL soon... :firefight

jasminesmommy, thanks for teaching an old dog a new trick. it sounds like so much fun. i have never heard of this one before

We just returned from WDW and while there my DD and niece got to wake up Tinkerbell on our first day there - We had just finished CRT and were walking out of the castle at 9:15 - I thought we would be too late but we took the girls to Tinks to ask anyway - to our surprise no one had asked yet so DD and my niece had the honor of waking her up - it was really cute and they loved to share the honor.

Later that day my son and nephew got to be Guest Conductors on the train - it was a fun filled day!

We had PS at CRT for 9:10 but I told the entrance line my time was 8:50 (a CM told me to do this). I figured if they checked the time I would play dumb and say I thought it was 10 til, not 10 after. Anyway, no one check and we got in to be there at rope drop. I would be a few minutes late to my 9:00 CRT. It doesn't take long to wake up Tink.
