Waking up Tink???

I read earlier on about waking up Tinkerbell in the crystal shop inside the palace. We have reservations for Crystal Palace at 8:10 am. What time should we be there to try and be the ones that wake up Tink? Will it be the mad rush to the finish line? And does anybody know how popular this is? I don't want to set my kids up for disappointment if there is a line of kids trying to see what is going on.

Thank you for any help.

I do not think you should rush your breakfast in order to get to Tinker Bell's shop. There is usually a small mad rush to get there when the shop opens, but any mad rush at all makes the experience not so enjoyable.

Only if you are lucky would you find nobody there when the shop opens.

The experience could be greatly improved if, should more than one person arrive, that people draw lots or throw dice to see who gets to try first and also Tinker Bell would not always wake up on the first try.

Look through the keyhole in the upper dresser drawer and see if you can see Tinker Bell, even in the middle of the day or late in the day. You may have to stare for a minute or two.

Tink's drawer used to be lit up so you could look inside the key hole, this time it was all pitch black and you couldn't see anything at all :-( DD asked the CM's in the store and they told her it will only have a light flash now and then, so we never got to see inside this trip.

You wake Tink at Tink's Treasures. You have to wait for the rope drop at the Castle.

We woke Tink on Sunday for the first time. It is not the first time we tried but I have never told my dd4 about it. I never wanted to get there and have an upset child on my hands.

We were the first in the shop. About 1 minute to 1 1/2 and a half after we went in another family came in wanting to wake tink. The girls were very dissapointed that they could not wake tink. I saw no reason why they could not help my dd wake tink. My dd was who got to tap the box but the other girls got up there to help and got certificates. I know it is not the same as actually waking her but it was something.

Depending on the age of your kids, you may want to reconsider telling them. I did tell my DD8, but I have been very insistant that she understand the odds of her getting to do this are VERY slim. She completely understands, and I know it won't ruin her morning/day/trip if she's not the first one.

This "best kept secret" is no longer a secret and I've read posts about pushy/rude people fighting over doing this. I'd hate for you to get your (or your kids) hopes up only to be run over by an eager mob at rope drop. ;)

We did it lat Nov. We had breakfast at CRT and waited at rope drop. There was another girl with her parents standing right with us and I could tell they were eyeing the store as well. Long story short, DD and the other girl became quick friends and they both got to wake Tinkerbell--it was neat! :sunny:

We did not see Tink in May and the cast member in Tink's Treasures had no idea what I was even talking about.

Can you please tell me what time you reservation was for breakfast (just trying to see how long our meal will be) and did you have to go back to the rope drop in the front of the park? Or did you wait at the castle outside the door?

Thanks for all the hints.

We lined up right at the Castle rope drop. Last year we had an 8:05 reservation--I am sure 8:10 is about the same as far as getting in and out. We actually had about a 10 minute wait for the drop because we flew through breakfast. We stood right by the call of the castle right by the rope and made a beeline for the shop-good luck!!! :thumbsup2

We had the same thing happen the first time we tried to wake up Tink. The CM just looked at me like I was crazy, until a (much older) CM came and explained to him what it was. I figured he was new. We got to wake her up, though!

We went to Crystal Palace for an 8:00 reservation and then went over for the rope drop. We woke up Tink. No other family came in while we were there and the process took about 15 minutes. (last November)

This is what we did. I did not tell my DGD who is 4, or the rest of my family now that I think about it, what we were doing in the store. It was so nice for her because a CM took her by the hand and together they went to the dresser and waited for Tink to fly. It was a magical moment for her and for us as well. I still have the image of my little DGD crouched in front of that dresser peeking in the keyhole and that wonderful CM beside her. I know that she must have done that same thing many times that day, but for my DGD it was the first time, and she behaved as though it was a first for her as well. Disney at its best!

At the "rope" to Fantasyland, which direction is the store from the castle...to the left or to the right?

Thanks for letting my girls help your dd wake up Tink. They'd done it about 2 years ago and never forgot about it. So when we were passing by they wanted to run in. They would have been totally happy just watching her wake up, but that was really sweet of you to offer for them to help. Thanks again.
