Hi. Been DVC since 2008 and very happy but never done a waitlist before. I am on waitlist for Beach Club Villas for just one night during our vacation 30th September. There is an option to be on waitlist up to 7 days before. I will be staying at SSR the 7 days before and be happy to get the swap but how do they let you know? Do they email? Also I choose the option to replace my current booking for that night at SSR. Do I loose these points because it's at such short notice (within 30 days ) and it's treated like a cancellation? Newbie here! I know the chances of getting the Beach Club are zero but.... Also for future reference are you able to go on the waitlist for more than one resort so for example Beach Club and VWL for same night in case either comes up? Tia.

Since Beach Club is generally more points then SSR I don't think you are losing points unless you are changing room size, but if you do get a cheaper reservation at BCV at 7 days out then the "extra" points go into holding which means you can only use them 60 days in advance of the booking.

Yes, you can have two waitlists active. I had one for both BCV and BWV for the same days.

They are suppose to email when your waitlist clears, but I check periodically

Thanks! I might add one then cool! :-) very helpful!

An add on question to the OP... Can you reserve more than one room under 1 reservation or do they need to be separate? With that can you wait list multiple rooms at a resort under 1 res and then have a back up wait list at another for multiple rooms? (we need three studios, as its cheaper than a GV).

Each will be there own reservation and you would not be able to waitist all three rooms due to the 2 waitlist per UY limit. And, waitisting multiple reservations can be tough since one could come through and the other one may not.
