is there a limit on how many resorts you can waitlist. Getting so much more difficult to book non home 7 months out TIA

You are allowed to have up to 2 waitlists active at one time during a use year.

But you have to have points to cover your home resort AND your waitlist, correct? Otherwise if your waitlist doesn't come through, you end up with nowhere to stay? Is that right?

You can set up your waitlist online to replace a reservation, thus freeing up those points on that reservation. Or you can have MS setup to replace either the front or backend of a reservation if a waitlist comes through. What you cannot do is have a waitlist replace days in the middle of a stay.

It is 2 waitlists per membership. We own at BCV and SSR - 2 separate memberships so we can have 4 waitlists.

Is it 2 waitlists per membership or contract? If I have 2 contracts with the same use year (so they are on the same member number), how does that count?

Per membership. You have two contracts with the same use year and since you have one membership the deeds apparently also match. You will be allowed 2 waitlists. We have two contracts with the same use year but they are titled differently so we have 2 membership numbers thus allowing 4 waitlists.
