I'm not sure where I should be posting this. I have a reservation at BLT for a dedicated 2 BR Theme park view in April. I don't really need the theme park view and would like to save the points, so I have been waitlisted for a lake view or standard view. I know the basics of how the waitlist works. My question is pertaining to how a switch would happen if there is someone booked at the same time as my reservation that currently has a lake or standard view but would like to switch to a theme park view (and is waitlisted as such). From my understanding, the DVC staff can't do a switch unless something is actually open. They don't look for people who would like to do a switch. Is this right? Is this ever done through people talking in this forum? Thank you!

No, they do not look for possible switches, just open dates. Make sure you make the change before 30 days out or your extra points will go into holding.
