We have booked a trip for early Jan around the marathon time just the other day. We needed 2 studios since my MIL is going with us. Our 2 kids will stay with her the night before the marathon so we wont disturb them getting up so early.

Heres the dilema...we were hoping for the 2 studios to be at VWL so it would be easy for my MIL and kids could get to EPCOT at the finish line to greet us. They could catch the boat, then monorail to Epcot. Transportation is pretty bad on marathon day, especially early in the morning.

Anyway, we had to book SSR because the 2 studios at VWL the night before marathon were booked. What chance of waitlist coming through so we can be at VWL? Dont get me wrong, SSR is a great place, we enjoyed our stay there, but VWL would be easier for them to manage getting there.

Boat to MK, monorail or ferry to TTC, monorail to EPCOT; doesn't sound easy to me on that day or truly on any day. Best choice might be to stay at BWV or BCV so they could walk there and not have to worry about it. However, if you wait list that day and reserve the rest that's available, your chances are pretty good. If you reserve SSR and try to get the entire package at one time at VWL using the wait list, your chances are much worse. Good luck, I hope it works out.

Thanks Dean.

We have been at WDW the past 2 years during marathon, once at CB, once at BCV. Even BCV is a chore to walk to to get to finish line, especially for Grandma! Monorail drops off right near finish line, that is our logic
We tryed BCV and BWV, nothing there for what we need.

Oh well, keeping fingers crossed for waitlist to come through.
