Waitlisting for Memorial Day weekend

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of their waitlist coming through?

My DH has just booked us a last minute trip for my birthday.

We are new DVC members having only closed in March so I don't really know our chances of this coming through. We have managed to get 3 nights at SSR from 27th May. But we have waitlisted all resorts for 25th and 26th.

Any thoughts?

I don't know when it happens, but around 30 days out, you have to tell MS again that you want to stay on the waitlist. Then again, at 7 days out, you have to call every day. I do hope you get a room! What's your back up plan?

We only called the day before yesterday so we were below 30 days to start with. I will make sure we call them back every so often then as I don't want them to take us off the waitlist!

As we are from the UK, the flight package we bought comes with accomodation. However it is a cheap hotel and after reading the reviews we are not particularly keen to stay there with the children. We will if we have to or if its a complete dive then we won't stay we will find alternative arrangements.

OK, so in that case, are you waitlisting for each day separately or do you only want them together? I think day by day, you would get something.

Can you explain a little more please. Having never been on a waitlist before I really haven't got a clue how best to do it. Thank you.

DH called MS today and asked to be waitlisted as seperate days. She said that would give us a better chance of getting something although I'm not hopeful at this late stage.

Will it show on the website straightaway if we get one of our waitlisted days, is it automatic?

Yes, it will show up! I remember checking every few hours...try not to do that!
